Vicious_AD 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2006 (edited) I have no idea why, but for some reason whenever I click on a folder now it opens it as a search instead of just showing me the contents. Whenever I right click it, search is at the top of the tab in bold instead of open. Is there any way I can fix this? I have no idea what I did wrong.[EDIT] Sorry, I fixxed it. iGuest 3 Report post Posted June 22, 2008 clicking folder opens desktop search window XP Problem: Clicking On Folder Opens Search Replying to szupie I have the same problem however I'm not quite certain that I'm finding the right keys for both of the HKEY's below. Usually when I do a search in the registry I'm confident that I have found the right key and I'm not with this; am I missing something? It doesn't exactly say "directoryshell" or "driveshell" when I search for the HKEY_CLASSES-ROOT. iGuest 3 Report post Posted March 16, 2011 Thank you! I did a google search hoping to find SOMEONE who inadvertently changed the behavior of how a folder opens and found this post! It worked! I had found another post, but it said to just make that key = "none". Then, every folder opened My Documents no matter what the folder was suppose to be a shortcut to! Thank you!
