Synn 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 (edited) Ok i recently reinstalled xp on my computer and the audio drivers worked before I redid it now they do not. There's a big yellow question mark next to Audio drivers on the control panel. Any suggestions...its a laptop without any documentation or anything so I have no idea what any of the specs on it are......Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Houdini 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 Either look at the sound card or find out who the motherboard manufacture is, or if it is a lap top then go to the manufactures home page and look for the drivers for your model of the laptop and just download all the drivers for you laptop and either install them manually or they might have an install that does all that for you. miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 Yup Houdini is right - you should look at the Chipset and any other cryptic numbers/codes you find on your soundcard and try Googling for them. That's your only way out now. I'd found the correct drivers for my GEForce card the same way.
szupie 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2006 I've had this problem many times too. When you bought the laptop, even if you didn't get any documentation, it should give you a bunch of disks in case you need to reinstall something on your computer. See if there's a disk that was made by the company that made your computer. That disk should include all the drivers your laptop needs. You just need to install the audio drivers and see which one works.
Andrew1405241517 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2006 If I were you I'd find the model of your tower or motherboard on the manufactuare's website and download the drivers and software for the chipset.. I've had the same problem and that always solved it for me.http://www.motherboards.org/ I think it is.. anyways, it may be useful.
