I stick myself with the 90s and 2000 era in music. The genre I do love to listen so much is NU-Metal. Yeahm its a bit loud for my age but I feel so much comfortable with all the screams and distorted Drop D string. For once, the combo between rap and rock seems to mix well and for the extremes, my driving has never been that exciting. Sorry is this is considered reviving a dead topic, but I prefer old school rap like Tupac and I'm listening to a lot of ll cool J (not that old). I'm not saying I hate rock or anything, I like both, I would just prefer to listen to rap over rock if I had to listen to 1

Rap all the way because in my opinion rap is so much more skillful than rock. Rock is just random people playing guitars and screaming mismathing words. Rap is really difficult to perfect the tempo and get all the rhymes right, while staying in the character of the song. RAP FOR LIFE. bUt i suppose hip hop is dead until eminem comes back, with a bit of dr dre.!!!

Alot of things don't make sense in your post.Rock is not random people. They are ethier an individual or in groups called bands (2+ people). They play guitars, percusion or sing. Rock is music so has a tempo and a rytheme. Some sons have rhymes, but most do not. The screaming and yelling is the character of some songs and if you use your ear/ears (if you have any) then you would hear the lyrics.They must of wrote you a bad raincheck for your logic when you were born.PS. You might be able to get some at K-mart on a blue light special (check sunday paper).

to me not all rap is bad but most of it is like "ear rape". Its a bunch of stuff u don't wanna hear. I hear enough of that all day at high school. I don't wanna come home, cut on the radio and on every station hear some guy sing about the same stuff in a monotone voice. Rap = RAPE for your ear. All u gotta do is add an e. Seriously. Its is so hard to distinguish between diff rap songs, but w/ rock, each song is very distinct. Same w/ the artists of both genres: rap they sound the same, rock they each have their own sound.But ok. Rap sux for the most part...But some is good.ROCK is better...But we're entitled to opinions (however wrong they may be).

that is so not true. Rock has soul to it. U write about what your going through, experiances and such and then follow it up with some amazing guitar, percussion, and vocals. Rap is just some guy talking in a rthym about what he wants to to with a girl

You got Eminem, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent and many others who who literally just ramble on about the same thing : sex, women and money. Nearly all rappers are just dirty minded and their lyrics have no feeling and soul to it. To me rap isn't music, its more like crap.Rock, however, you have Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC, Guns and Roses, Ted Nugent and Rory Gallagher. If you think about it this way, when you're about 80 years old do you really see yourself singing rap songs like "To the window to the wall, got sweat dripped down my balls" ( I have no clue what the title to that song is or who its by 'cause I don't listen to that crap)? Rap has no melody what-so-ever but rock does have melody. I can definately see myself singing "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix when I'm 80 years old.It scares me a lot that I'm about the only girl in my highschool who loves rock music and they diss me for it. Everyone tries to convert me to like rap and hip hop. It gonna happen, mate! I grew up with rock and I'm sticking to rock. I keep telling these sons of b****es at school that rap songs fade away in a blink of an eye but rock songs live forever, I mean look at Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix or Highway to Hell by AC/DC!I really wish the days of Woodstock came back.Listen, I don't care if you like Rap, thats what you like, I'm fine with that. But as for me, ROCK FOREVER!

I prefer Rock too. Rock is more of a musical form than Rap since you can actually compose guitar, percussion, and the vocals & write them on the music staff. Rap doesn't really have that. That and R&B in my experience sing about the same thing over and over -__-

ROCK!Rap sucks!The same beats, same message in each song.About pimps, hos, big booties, and nice cars. It's horrible, and there's no craetivity.ROCK encapsulates so many genres, it's unbelievable. From Led Zeppelin to Pearl Jam to AC/DC, there are so many great bands ands songs. And they actually play their instruments. Nothing coming straight from the studio. Rock takes talent and hard work. And the lyrics come straight from the soul, whether it's about being abused as a child, about stopping the war, or even about having a good time.ROCK is everything. ROCK is life.

if an old RAP song plays everyone in the room laughs and makes fun of it.

if an old ROCK song plays people still get into it and continue listening.

RAP is simply a flavor of the week but ROCK is timeless.

sure there is exceptions to EVERY rule because there are RAP songs out there that are GREAT and will continue to be great and there are ROCK songs out there that **** and will continue to ****.

On a general level ROCK is proven better than RAP because older and newer ROCK songs will be played and enjoyed but older and newer RAP songs will continue to rise then dwindle away.

Rock 100% All rap is doing is teaching us to be sexist (there's probably more things its teaching us to be). I can't think of one rock song that discriminates. Thank God we have and had bands like Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, The Sex Pistols and anyone with a brain cell really. Rap music is commercialised crap with no meaning and quite obviously no purpose so get rid of it in my opinion.
