mzwebfreak 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2005 Okay, felt this would be the best place to ask, but, when it comes to websites and design aspects, which do you prefer, especially as regards graphics: simple graphics with text and pics that don't overwhelm things, or busier ones, especially if you're looking at a business site, with more graphic explanation of what the site's about? I ask this because I'm trying to settle a disagreement between me and my guy about this. He says that you need more than just a couple of pics in a button/graphic to make it interesting for the people looking at this business site. I've always thought that the best sites were the more simplistic ones....what do ya'll think?
PureHeart 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2005 You should make two different version of the same website. One with simple graphics and text (for dial-up user), and another for broadband users. You can let them select the suitable speed at the home page. Or you a flash to check the connection speed and then redirect the visitor to the right site. bricktamland 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2005 For a business site you cant overdo, i think, but dont under-do it either=) somewhere in the middle should be fine ~ Also, Pureheart had a good idea with the dial-up and broadband users
jipman 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2005 Unless you use a hell lot of pictures. There's no need to have 2 versions of a site. Also, for a business site, too much pictures and animation is a no no anyways. You have to be to the point with those things
yordan 10 Report post Posted December 11, 2005 For my business, when I go to business site, I need to see clearly and immediately what this site has and if it's interesting for me.So, I would say, the simplest this site is, the best for me.I know that some collegues think differentely, the prefer first a nice drawing. Then, it's a matter of artist's freedom...
Vyoma 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2005 I am thinking in the shoes of a client. When I go to a site to do business, I would hate it if I am overwhelmed by graphics. I mean, if there are no graphics, I would think they are not professional enough, but if it is over loaded with graphics, that would give me a feel of 'all-talk-and-no-work'. I would associate them with loud mouth salesperson who I think I hate the most in this existance.
Incognyto 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2005 I like clean. No visual pollution. No stalling, just skipping to the point. Someting I don't take any extra effort or time to get to where I want to - specially when I really want to just skip to that part - right away. But, if you want people to look at everything and don't get "customers" that most oftenly just want to look for one or a few specific things, you can go pretty graphic and even overwhelm it a little.
