Why do you want to build a list here when there are already thousands of pre-compiled and rated lists (alongwith feature comparison) online for Free & Cheap hostings.

Instead refer to these lists:
1. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
2. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
3. http://www.100best-free-web-space.com/
4. http://www.thefreesite.com/Free_Web_Space/
5. http://www.webhostdir.com/
6. http://www.findwebhosts.com/
7. http://www.0hosts.com/
8. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/blog/category/hottest-hosts/

What you're trying to do is really redundant. Sorry about pouring water on your attempts but you should realize that this attempt is quite futile.... it'll be much easier referring to those lists. Waste your energy on some other better post.

Well you see there are hosts that dont offer the thing you want and most of them arent listed on those directories ! Well sorry if i made you angry or anything but the best way is by giving advice on something to some one . I found Xisto after 1 month of searching for it ! So this is why i really want to make a list . I am also thinking about making a list of there file hosts and ... . Sorry .

No no.. It didn't make me angry whatsoever. I think you got me wrong ;) or maybe, my tone wasn't quite right. What I meant to say was, don't you think trying to build such a list is an overkill when there are so many huge lists around ?On the other hand, if you want to compile a list that fits into a certain criteria, say like, Diskspace > 100 MB, NO ADS, Database support etc. then just go ahead.. but I'd suggest, first define such categories and then keep adding sites under those categories as you come across them..That way, it'll be easier to spot the features of each site at just a glance. Take a look at the post you made above - all the sites there have different features, but some are common .. so group them up together according to those similarities. Got it ?Regards,m^e

How's this for an idea: Someone make an Xisto website that's nothing more than a searchable database about this, using mySQL to classify it all? I probably could do it, but I don't know how to do the searchable bit of it all...and let people submit hosts they know about? I could probably do it, but need help with the searching.

Oh - quite possible ;) If you come up with a good template, coding is no problem. There are plenty of us here (and of course our PHP-Gurus OpaQue and Vujsa) .. and then us .. :POn second thoughts - we should really do it. This could very well be our first ever in-house project. All this while we'd been dying to start on one - but just not getting the right start. This will provide good enough impetus to carry on, apart from being a good exercise of the muscle lovingly known as the "brain" :P

Looking at netfirms' website they advertise the program you mention as costing 9.95/month if you pay annually. There is also no mention of any free plan.

Here's another VERY GOOD free host. I have been using it for a while, now, but I hate the banner at the top. Anyway:

https://www.100webspace.com/

You've got 100 MB, a banner at the top, 3 GB bandwith, php, mysql, and absolutly free. But of course, asta is better ;)

Perhaps link it with Antilost. Afterall, that is what it is there for.

I think it would be a great idea, and would make things a lot more easier. I have yet to find a decent looking site with accurate and up-to-date information displayed in a purposeful (and logical) order. There are also a lot of false reviews on directories, that quite franquely piss me off.

With the new Xisto.net (I have tried it), I think there will be a lot of competition, and honestly, with the current excellence of Xisto providing these services, I think it will be a very strengthy host.

A lot of my friends are making sites on a website called piczo.com, they are easy to make and very quick. However, I have tried it, and I find a lot of it detremental to the integrety of web-design. People who are colour-blind are creating sites, and honestly, there should be some kind of magic gun, that I could shoot people with. <tangent />
