Houdini 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 Recently Gitmo has recieved criticism about the treatment of enemy combatants housed in the multimilliondollar facility there!Well the newest news is that we decided to transport 100 of those enemy combatants to Afghanistan, isn't it strange that all of a sudden the complaints from these enemy combatants ceased....Could it be that they will actually face abuse from their own countrymen in the area where they were captured in a war trying to kill American Soldiers and Marines and sailors (WEARING A UNIFORM) might not get the fancy meals that we don't even get daily imported from Florida by Navy Chefs? The cells might be even smaller or they might just give them a quick trial and then shoot or hang the enemy combatants then let the corpse stay for days or burn them publically while singing the National Anthem of Afghanistan...then putting it all on televeision about the fine treatment these guys should recieve when going to HELL with 72 virgins (1/2 gross chicken eggs, try having sex with a 2 day old chick...FOREVER!!!)HA HA HA
hatim 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2005 First of all , if US wants to imprison some one who has done any thing wrong they have all the right to do so ..BY LEGAL MEANS. I am from Pakistan and have lived in US for 2 years (education). I was impressed by things such as "value for freedom" "freedom of speech" and "justice". US may be at its all time low (in terms of alot of values) But its still better than alot of other coutries. You guys want to spread justice and freedom (which is not necessirly democrecy) fine ...do it ..but do it by example. My reservations with GITMO are as follows. Its a legal loophole in US justice system. People are not being given and representatvies and are not being tried. I think in US its innocent untill proven guilt and not the other way around.Gitmo is causing hate for the US. Even an illeterate person in my region knows that this is the place where Quran was desicrated ..Although I value human life more than any Book (infact that is the true Islamic value...one mans life is more important than a book) But now people who didnt even care about all this war ..are against US (for their own ..beliefs) Your Governemnt knows it and tried to do damage control by shutting up NewsWeek. All in All present US Govt has become sneaky , loop hole finder etc etc. They dont care about the TRUE AMERCIAN values ..but they care about their own interetes (OIL,POWER...or otherwise please explain why u guys attacked Iraq)The thing is that since u r amercian . and i am a pakistani by Avg life expectancy i will die in 40 years ..and assuming u r 25 ull be dead in 50-60 years..no big deal ..but US has set it self on a collision course with its own destruction (like Roman Empire) ..it will happen now..Bush has done enough damage to clean up in 200 years. In my opnion real american values ..or real HUMAN values are to save human lives and be a prosperous planet. If a few ppl start thinking like that we may make things better. Till that please visit iraqbodycount.org
Chronic1405241507 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 If Bush were actually smart he would have has this whole issue solved by now. They need to get a PR program going, where every part of the prison is documented. It should show how the prisoners are being treated and how their daily lives are in the prison, however, it should not go into such detail as to give away US techniques and strategies. Then the documentary should be broadcast all over the world, so everyone can see what Gitmo is like...Although, no one would believe the documentary anyways probably. Houdini 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2005 Although, no one would believe the documentary anyways probably. rolleyes.gif You got that right, George is playing it right...these are people captured...not killed immediately on a battlefield...I am a Vietnam Veteran and possibly would have killed them before they killed me...circumstances unknown though they were captured as prisoners that were trying their best to kill our men in full uniform, while they were just wearing whatever garb they had...no insignia no rank, no nothing, therefore under the much lauded Geneva Convention they are what is considered enemy combatants (they weren't trying to help us rid of other enemys in the immediate vicinity)!
