WeaponX 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 Is everyone else having this problem? I logged in but it takes a long time to load. Even after it loads, the images are still not loaded yet. I clicked on File Manager and that also takes a while to load. I tried to access the forum and CMS I created and they work. No problems there. Not sure if it's me (maybe my ISP?) or the server at Xisto. Could someone take a look at this? Thanks.
OpaQue 15 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 We set Quota for the BW we alot a percentage for every service. We usually set low for Cpanel and other service as the server usually experiences lot of load. Instead we concentrate more on the services of HTTP, FTP, SSH etx. Usually Cpanel is not used soo much, except for creating database, setting mails.. etx. But the services like browsing the database are assigned seperate ports. So they work without any problems. Noonster22 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 I can't say I have.It is probably due to the following situations:You have a slow internet connection. The server is congested. You are accessing your web-server at peak hours. If the page-loading is extremely slow, try using frontpage editor. It automatically syncs with your website host, and the editing is on a graphical interface... meaning drag-and-drop, or what-you-see-is-what-you-get basis. However, front-page codes its websites in a format that is not the industry standard.Meaning it works with internet explorer, but maybe not firefox. That is the flaw with all drag-and-drop editors. WeaponX 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2005 Was away for a while. OK, I just tried again and it's still very slow. I have DSL and it was very fast the first few times when I used it. The slowdown started to occur for no apparent reason.I guess I can try using FTP instead then. The only reason I like doing it through cPanel is because of the zip files. I don't want to upload all the files like that. Rather, (more convenient) I want to upload the zip file only and then unzip it in cPanel. I think it's much quicker than using FTP to upload the unzipped files.Don't know what else could be wrong since I barely used my account at all this month. I guess it's happening to everyone then. WeaponX 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 I have an update on this. For some reason, I can access this at my workplace and not at home. I do recall that when I first got this web host account, I did all the cPanel work at my workplace and not at home. Work has a T1 line and my home has DSL. Does this really matter? DSL should be fast enough right? I tried going to cPanel day, evening and night. All with the same result - extremely slow loading times.
mzwebfreak 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2005 yeah...not only am I having problems with cpanel access being slow, something appears to be wrong with my SQL as related to my databases and webmail...any ideas?
WeaponX 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2005 OK, I just saw in the shoutbox that cPanel is back to normal and loads extremely fast LOL. Will need to check this out when I get home. What's the problem with the SQL and webmail? I'm logging into cPanel at work (which always worked) and no problems with SQL here. Trekkie101 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2005 OpaQues already given the answer.Astahost has many customers, so to keep the websites running fast and loading at good speeds, theres prioritys on what can send data and at what speed. Obviously accessing data is top priority, so if the server has a lot of traffic to keep it serving at good speed, it allots more of the connection to Apache (The Web Server) and less to cPanel and its processes as cPanel isnt used as much as apache. So you can wait until a lot traffic time, dunno when, but I find early in my morning its high traffic (im GMT (UK)) and at nught its a lot faster. But why is it happening to me during the day, afternoon and night times? It only loads extremely slow at home. At work, I have no problems logging into cPanel during the morning or afternoon. If it helps, I'm using Verizon DSL at home. Maybe some configuration settings is wrong? Trekkie101 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2005 Are Verizon strict about useage, and bandwidth limits? Also are you using firefox? If they are, its likely they dont like extra ports open, youll probably find FTP slow in this case.If its internet explorer, it has a habit of just being annoying. WeaponX 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2005 I'm not aware of any strict bandwidth usage limits. I have no problems logging into my other cPanel account (for my paid web host - not Xisto). It loads up quickly.Yes, I'm using Firefox. But I'm using Firefox here at work also and have no problems logging into cPanel. If its internet explorer, it has a habit of just being annoying.LOL. I should give that a try tonight. Maybe it will work better.Any other ideas why this might be happening? I'm sure it has nothing to do with the timing here.
