FearfullyMade 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2005 I'm wondering if anyone can help me with my problem. I have Suse 9.2 on my computer and I recently added a second monitor. For some reason I can't get it set up correctly. My video card is a Radeon 9800. I think that might be some of my problem since Ati doesn't seem to have good driver support for linux.Anyway, I have Ati's drivers installed, not the ones that came with Suse. I ran the configuration utility that came with the drivers, and as far as I can tell I entered all the right settings. However, the X server refuses to start when I have both monitors configured. When I have just one monitor configured the desktop will come up, but for some reason it won't all fit on the screen. You have to scroll up and down to see all of the desktop. I'm not sure what I need to do to fix this problem. If I need to clarify more, let me know. I hope someone can help.
hatim 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2005 well it would be a nice idea to post your xorg.conf logs fomr /var/log/X11.ATI has bearable support for linux and when I had my radeon 9000 Pro it worked fine with dual monitors. just make sure you have xinerama enabled in options.
