halo2krew 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2005 THis is a tut i made a while back. 1. Start with a 400 x 135 image. 2. filter>render>clouds 3. Press ctrl+i to invert the image 4.Duplicate the background layer 5. On the duplicate layer use the gradient tool on these settings, untill you get bright lines( blend mode should be on lighten) 6.On the original background copy use the gradient tool also. 7. On the background copy press ctrl+u to color it. 8.On the orignal layer do the same as step 7. thats it! The outcome wont be the same as mine but the same idea. Here are some other ones i made. biscuitrat 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 It's not bad. It's a bit bold, but some people prefer it that way. I for one wouldn't recommend it as a webpage's background since it's extremely bright, but if you use hue and saturation, you can tone it down for a signature. Benz1435 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Very good tutorial, I bet taking that and another image and blending it together for a background would look very good. I have done this on some of my signatures and I loved the turnout of them. You should try doing that & see what happens.
NeXDesigns 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 the tutorial and technique is nice, great starting point for a beginner to learn the interface, but it to me is annoying when people use them in sigs or webpages.one idea that i had for it was possibly overlay an abstract render with it to give it more depth, it looks cool with the beam and gassy kinda look to it. just the colors would be different.the tutorial i give a 7/10, the effect, a 4/10.
