For this generation that is slowly comming to an end, I would have to say the PC really shone above the others. I mean sure the PS2 and xbox were both strong competetors with their own shining gems (need I say...Halo?) but I dont think either really exceled very much. The pc, however, really had some strong advancements and came out swinging with many great games, as well as (often improved) ports of many of the best games for the consoles (GTA3, KOTOR, etc)Personally I enjoyed all 3 of these but I got much more use out of my PC with D3 and HL2 and various other games, while I only played my consoles on a much less frequent basis.

I voted for Xbox because he has a great online support. You can play online on your TV. That's the best.

PC is also cool for online gaming, but playing in your chair is better.

PS2 has an huge game collection, so if you wanna buy many games, buy an PS2.

Gamecube I really don't like. Too much kiddy games and low-budget games.

So I prefer Xbox mostly, than PC and than Ps2.  :)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

And who says 'kiddy' games are a bad thing, huh? lol, I love kiddy games (too cute!). I basically have every sort of gaming console ever made (thanks to my obsessive father and brother), so I've tried em all. And like others have said, they all have their advantanges.

But I think I'm going to have to go with PS2. Mainly coz it just has some of THE best games... I dont really care about good graphics or size or whatever... as long as the game's fun!

Like I said, there's nothing wrong with Kiddy games, but Game Cube doesnt have too much fun games anymore (...'kiddy' whatever...). What ever happened to good ol' nintendo? super or 64... When I was a kid, I use to spend AGES playing mario or Yoshi or donky kong... man, they were the best. The games dont really sell anymore, unfortunately. And since gamecube has moved away from those games, I cant really say I like it all that much.

And theres only one PC game I play. I'm not into the types of PC games there are out there, anyway. They're all too guy-ish. That's why I choose PS2.

:)

I personally voted for the xbox. The amount of unlockable things it can do is amazing for a gaming console. I mean i have everything i need via the xbox. Gaming console, mp3 player, dvd/avi player and all of these things are stored directly onto the harddrive.I found that the PS2 was just a short life spanned console, into years i went through four of them!! If it wasnt the drive then it was another part of it. I've had my xbox for neear on five years and it hasnt caused me one bit of trouble.

Personally, I believe the XBOX will beat out both the PS3, AND PC.Why, you ask?For one, the XBOX will be able to play PC games (I'm not sure what kinds of restrictions there's going to be on it, but I know that it is going to be able to). This eliminates any reason for having to upgrade my computer like I was originally going to have to. This saves me a lot of money. A computer cannot play XBOX games comfortably (and when I say comfortably, I mean without having to have the most expensive computer on the planet), so that eliminates it from the race. The reason I believe the XBOX (360) will beat out the PS3, is mostly a matter of preference on my part. I'd much rather an XBOX over a PS anyday, and now that the XBOX plays PC games, it just made that decision a thousand fold easier. Thank you Microsoft.

Wow!!! Was that president Bush speaking above me? First off anything MS is crap. Trust me I know, I work at for an IT company and we love MS because its always broken. Second remember back when everyone said the Xbox was better than the PS2 just because it had better graphics? Well something happened the game manufacturers got smart and set up the games to perform with the PS2 (like it wasn't doing at the begining) and now PS2 games totally rape Xbox games in performance and seem to have to cap at the moment. This will continue in PS3 I can guarantee that because Bill Gates isn't running Sony. Another thing is PS will always have better games than Xbox and just because Xbox can run PC games doesn't mean Shytte. You still have a computer don't you? Well are you gonna just get rid of it? I think not. A pc will always be better than these consoles because if you have the cash you set up a dirty system and they will run sweet games. Why do you have an Xbox right now? Two reasons and I can name them. 1. Halo. 2. You can rip every single game xbox has with its HD. Simple you save money by upgrading the HD to at least 200GB get a month pass at blockbuster or something and ripping all their games. And why do you have a PS2? Simple its the shytte, simple, sleak like always and doesn't have issues. The games are overall the best and oh yeah and that controller is 80 times better than anything out there. But thats my opinion. I'll stick to my mostly PCing and buy the PS3 a year after it comes out when it drops in price.

And yet, you missed the point of my post.

An XBOX being able to play PC games doesn't mean sh!t to you, because you're willing to dump a ridiculous amount of money into your hunk of junk to keep it up to par. Not to mention, you don't mind compatability hassles, nor memory issues.

AS FOR MYSELF, I don't want to put wads of money into my computer.

And notice how I never said a damned thing about XBOX graphics being better than PS's? I don't play games for graphics.

I prefer the XBOX, because I like the games they offer on there, moreso than I like the games on any PS system. Plus, their online support is much better than Sony's.

Actually Xbox360 playing PC games is interesting. But how big is the HD gonna be? Considering most PC games now a days are by the Gigs. And not having a PC in this world now a days is quite ridiculous. Most games minimum requirements are way less than some systems that you can pick up for $500 bucks. Memory issues (HD or RAM) are always dependant on the user.

Keeping up with my "hunk of junk"? Compatibillity issues? Memory problems? My hunk of junk (see bottom). Compatibility issues are nonexistant in PC games unless you have apple (which I love) and if there are any thank your friendly MS rapist. And if you are running at least 512MB you are fine doing whatever on a computer.

Dumping ridiculous amounts of money in a PC? That's a statement that doesn't make sense. Want to know why? Ask anyone who has dumped "ridiculous" amounts of money on their PC and they'll tell you every penny was worth it. I myself (and I'll tell you my system specs at the end) need a powerful computer for the work I do, (own business, graphic artist).

And if you don't play games for their graphics then your PC would be fine because the only reason you get the RAM and GC is to have the best graphics and gameplay.

You like the Xbox games, kool. I myself hate most the Xbox games on there, but then again there are some games I love. Between the two console I'm a sony man by far. But between the 3 the best would have to be the PC because its sooo customizable, more useful, multitasking, powerful, and needed (although money always factors in).

Alright, done with the flaming and lets move on to bigger and better things. I apologize to you Divest for "insulting" or whatever, but I usually tend to do that so don't take it to the heart. Most of the reason was I was lite up by MS, I just hate MS such a piece.

Well here is my "hunk of junk":

P4 3.4GHz HT (Don't have to buy a processor for at least 3 more years)

300GB HD (Got Gigs porn, huge software and still have 200 Gigs to go)

3GB RAM (I just upgraded and boy its nice)

ATI 9800Pro (I want to upgrade but with this GC its great)

I dont believe it. Majority of game players will go for PS3, because they are more used to the playstation games, without having all the complicated additions of all the new Xbox features. I dunno... maybe it just confuses me :D

But I seriously think playstation has loyal, die-hard fans that will always choose it over xbox. And besides, PC games should stay on PC... thats what makes a PC game. Being able to play it on computer.

Just what I think...

[Not A Fanboy]Xbox 360 will NOT play pc games. That has never been said, It will never happen.Okay, that aside, I tend to think as follows:PS2 = 100% Style and 0% Substance, Sells becouse its cool even with its lackluser First party and exclusive contentXbox = Clearly the undergod, also the least taken advantage of. Greater things should have come from this box. Hopefully they will be in 360.PC = I dont know what to say about PC gaming other than the elitist additude of most PC exclusive gamers is realy anoying. Get over it kids, PC gamers are not the be all to end all of games. I for one would rather pay for a next gen console than pay for a next gen GFX card that isnt guaranteed to play all my games released for PC. For all the big talk they are also paying the big bucks....and for what? Patches? New content? Online play? Im sorry but anyone can get that these days, hell PDA games get that kind of suport. In the end all that matter is good games. I will gladly play and own all consoles including PC(but I wont upgrade as often as Needed to keep with top end games). If I had to chose a winner for next gen I would go on a limb and say MS's new Xbox will edge out PS3. I also think that PC gaming will decline even more, getting only budget and the best of the best of console games for releases by the time the next next gen comes around.

Xbox had a few problems from the beginning. 1. it is grossly oversized. 2. the controller sux (of course like anything once you get use to it its kool, but i refuse.) 3. their games (on an overall) suck, for the reason of sony has the contracts with the best game developers. 4. it maxed out its graphic quality at the beginning. when PS2 and xbox were newly released xbox raped PS2 in graphics, i for one hated that but it turned out that the reason that occured was the GDev were having an issue with PS2 platform. once they fixed that PS2 surpased xbox in visuals.xbox's upsides: its saving systems is great because of the internal HD. and because of the HD, if you just upgrade it you can rip every single game xbox has.PS2 upsides: graphics, games, look (sleekness, controller, etc). oh and you dont have to buy a $20 dvd control to play dvd's.PC has many downsides but it all goes back to MS. 90-95% of the worlds home PC usage is MS and everyone hates it. Compatability issues are because of MS. Aside that the other issue is money. Its upsides are: greater content, gameplay, graphics, experience. and i would agree in the end it is the game play. i myself love graphics but wont play a game unless its good. and hear this from many gamers. theyll play a game with 1970s graphics on it if the game play is godly. and you are mistaken "the bob" with two things: if you went to the gamers expo you would know that the new xbox 360 so far is a great disappointment with very little graphic improvement and horrible games. while the PS3 was a rave with 5X's better graphics and amazing games. no surprise to me. and second PC games are not on a drop, in fact they have been on a rise since the late 90s with the introductions of diablo 2, starcraft, call of duty, CS, WoW just to name a few.

:( Actualy it is you who is misinformed as we have seen very very little actualy realtime gamepay from ps3. The 2 consoles should be just about even in the gfx department. Fact of the matter is we have yet to actualy se what the ps3 is capable of nor have we seen 360 running one anything more than weak beta development kits. Check your facts son.Compatability is also not just a Microsoft issue as more often than not its the drivers for the gfx card or the gfx card itself that make games unstable or unplayable. And lastly, you bring up the size of xbox as being a downside. This makes no matter on the subject as the games have nothing to do with how the system looks or plays. SHure the controller wasnt too great but they fixed it after a few months and most people moved on.Incedently ps2 never surpased xbox in visuals. They came close at one point but there are launch games for xbox that are still graphicly more impressive than 99% of ps2 games. Currant games for xbox are indeed better looking than even the best ps2 games(Gamecube games are better looking that the best looking ps2 games aswell). But then again, gfx arent that important. Are they?

Misinformed? Funny I was at the Expo when they unleashed all 3 consoles (xbox360, ps3, and the nintendo) and everyone there agreed that the xbox 360 is a great disappointment. I have facts and insiders I know what I'm talking about. And no shyte its the drivers and pluggins you need because of MS OS unstability. Check your facts on that. First off I have friends and family that work for MS, Blizzard, in the IT world (including myself), and programming. I know my shyte. And your right that the console doesn't make the game, but we are discussing the consoles as a whole, read the topic. And I agree they fixed the controllers but you still had the issue of the buttons, well at least I hated them and how they were located on the controllers.PS2 did surpass Xbox in visuals in the latter, though. Early on they had platform issues (GD did) once that was fixed the graphics were just as good if not better than Xbox. The cube always had better than both of them, but had no games (of interest) because of the contracts being bought out by both MS and Sony.Thank you, get a brain The Bob.
