miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 (edited) Hi guys, Now there's another site called Pay-Pup similar to Netbux - that pays you $0.02 or 2 cents per search you do through them. Only difference with Netbux is that these guys let you do 50 payable searches per day - letting you earn a maximum of $1.00 per day. Here's the deal - am trying to get referals under me in both these services. For each search that you perform through these sites, you get 2 cents and so do I. So far I've got 8 referals under me in Netbux and 1 in Pay-pup (moonwitch) - am trying to do as many searches as possible and telling my referals to do so too. The gathered money will be used to support AntiLost.Com - the OpenSource Collaborative Software Development Site we're launching soon. Right now the site is on a free asta account, but if we're to support project hosting, we'll need a whole bunch of disk space and thus have to go for a paid account. My idea is to get it from Xisto - Web Hosting - that'll support OpaQue too and help us maintain the site well... All you got to do is singup at either or both of these services (both is better - that way we'll make money faster) and start searching. They employ all the standard engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista, Askjeeves, Lycos, AllTheWeb etc. - so your searches will essentially fetch you the same results. Only factor you got to keep in mind is to fill up your quota of 40/50 searches per day at either of these sites. So my request goes out to all of you here to join in and Search for a good cause. I'll keep updating the account balance of both services in this post on a daily basis - so we can keep track of how much we've made so far. Today: May 17th, 2005 ================== Netbux: $38.42 Pay-pup: $09.96 --------------------------------- Total: $48.38 ================== To signup at any of these services, you should use the following referral links: ============================= 1. Netbux: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ 2. Pay-pup: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ============================= Counting on you guys to actively participate in this. vizskywalker 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2005 That's two under pay-pup, I'm referred as well, so Far I've made you about $1.00 total from both. Would it be possible to set up some sort of php script in a post or something so we could keep track of how close we are to our goal of $185?And how do I check how much I've made off of my referrals? (Is there a way to see individual earnings for my referrals?)~Viz
iceblade1405241492 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2005 How does this work exactly?Questions that i am wondering is: Do you have to be 18 to join, so you can get paid and stuff? Can you search the same thing over and over again? When we search stuff and get 2 cents a search, does the money come to us or go to you? I understand that you get 2 cents off each search we do, but does it send the 2 cents we get/would get to you or to us? I'm not 18 so I can't help, but maybe I can tell my mom about it and she will sign up for me so I can make some cash, I'll try to remember to sign up under you guys if I do. (if i did 50 searches or whatever i would have to do to get $1 a day from each, i could make $14 a week. Thats awesome.

miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2005 Here's something to alleviate your doubts How does this work exactly? Questions that i am wondering is: Do you have to be 18 to join, so you can get paid and stuff? No you needn't be 18 to join - but you DO need to be in a country where PayPal can hand out payments - coz that's how you get them delivered. Can you search the same thing over and over again?Nope. They have a check for that - if you use the same search string twice, the second time you don't get paid and it's not counted as a paid search either. When we search stuff and get 2 cents a search, does the money come to us or go to you? I understand that you get 2 cents off each search we do, but does it send the 2 cents we get/would get to you or to us?If you sign up directly - then the 2cents per search stays with ONLY you. But supposing you signed up UNDER me as a REFERRAL, then they actually dish out 4 cents per search. You get to keep your 2 and I get handed an extra 2 on top of that. This also happens if YOU manage to get more referrals UNDER you. When they search even you get 2 cents for each of their searches. They recommend TEN as a good number of referrals to have under anybody - that way, you are guaranteed to have around $200 per month, if everyone does their searches regularly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think the age matters - coz they don't really check for your age anywhere. But on the other hand, when PayPal sends you your money - whatever amount you earned, it will come in the form of a Check - which you'll need to encash. And for that you need a bank account. Even if you are around 15, I think you can easily get yourself a Minor Bank Account. (At least that's how it works in India - dunno about elsewhere). Hope this helps
konedima 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2005 whats the catch?
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2005 whats the catch? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I haven't found any catch so far - and there are several members claiming to have already received payment, according to posts on their board. No Signup fee No investments on your side - except for the time & keyclicks you spend searching No other obligations Hey that looks like free money online But I'm going to wait it out and see if I receive my payment properly and only then am going to write a proper review on them. So far they haven't got much other than harsh negative reviews from me.... Regards, m^e
iGuest 3 Report post Posted April 30, 2005 These sites have search engines on their site, I believe the search engine companies are paying them for the statistical information they gather from what searches are performed to help them. I also believe web site developers pay for similar information, this way, every search you do, is earning them money while affording to pay you too. The data they collect, goes towards helping search engines perform better searches and web developers create better keywords for search rankings. As for being 18, unfortunately, to have a PayPal account you must be 18 so that's the only problem I see for you, and don't lie about the information just to get the account, it'll really make it bad for us. However parents or those over 18 can have an account and they can allow you onto their account just by having a different email as to them. That way, you'll be allowed to do this. These pay-per search sites have no age restriction, only PayPal.It's for a good cause, and it'll help us bring better services to you guys which is where all the earnings for this is going towards (that and beer!, jokes).Cheers,MC
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2005 Beer beer a whole tank full of beer I'm going to dive straight into it and put up the video at asta ... lol
Dream1405241490 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2005 ok I did a little research on this site and well... the results are mixed. Although it seems they DO pay you. They make money from the ads they have, they use to have google adsense but that was taken off because it broke the rules. It seems this scheme is illgeal in some places(no idea where) oh well they do pay you though I really don't know

miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2005 Their system still has a whole lot of bugs - you should try signing up again using that same referral link, but a different email address this time and see. If it doesn't work out at all for you, come back here and blast them with a bad review.Focalex is that advertisement agency I think, that flashes banners on top of their page. They must have got your email address from the netbux database.Anyways, so far going good. After I made this post, my referral list jumped up from 6 to 12. Not all of them are active, but still it helps even if by a little margin. Till now, I'm the only one religiously doing my 40 searches every day and updating the stats here.Hope to see more active participation from you guys
Dream1405241490 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2005 umm weird news i've seen, what does this mean? We are NO longer using PayPal for accepting payments on un-referred member purchases, advertising, etc. We are now using a much better merchant account with 2CO.com. This will not affect how you will be paid, though however we do plan on adding other payment options in the near future including other online payment processors, checks by mail and eventually ACH credit. Please note that un-referred member purchases are now $3.00 / each and for the next 15 days we will be auditing accounts that have reached at least $50 for payout. As it stands, there are over 150 people to be paid and over $15,000 earned. One member has earned over $1,000!does that mean we have to not use paypal anymore? This doesn't smell too good if you know what i mean
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2005 umm weird news i've seen, what does this mean? does that mean we have to not use paypal anymore? This doesn't smell too good if you know what i mean <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope - nothing like that. You still get your payments delivered through paypal. They are talking about people who are unable to get referrals - they have that option of buying unreferred users at $3 per user - and make income from them. What the notice says is you cannot buy referrers anymore using paypal - but receiving money's no problem. Okay - here goes - this post has indeed helped me get a couple of more referrals. And I've been updating the money earned regularly at the end of the day, as seen from the Topic Starter Post. Here I'm publishing a list of people who signed up under me according to their emails: ==================== chris_gst AT yahoo.com shridhar AT fastmail.fm ainekayleigh AT gmail.com jipmanvuong AT gmail.com meetnakul AT hotmail.com netbux AT mytrashmail.com viz_skywalker AT yahoo.com suzmolthop AT aol.com zero.gambit AT gmail.com mlgriswold AT comcast.net yangzi AT excite.com ldavison AT orcon.net.nz adonis AT linuxmail.org ===================== The other similar site - Pay-Pup.com is also up and working. So my request goes out to the people on this list to sign up there as well - that will help us make more... The referral links can all be found on the first post of this thread. Still am pasting them here again: Netbux: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Pay-Pup: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Inviting more users to sign-up for a Good Cause - refer to the first post of this Thread.
