qwijibow 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2005 its just windows compiled as 64bit binaries rather than 32bit.64bit linux distro's are identicle to there 32bit versions, just compiled and optimised for different CPU's.even if you have a 64bit CPU, you may want to stick with 32bit windows, very few 64bit drivers are available for windows. OneStopReefShop 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2005 I would imagine having the drivers for hardware available before a serious release should be of a major consideration.Ohhhh.... wait....this is a Microsoft product... silly me!!!
moonwitch1405241479 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2005 Ohhhh.... wait.... this is a Microsoft product... silly me!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL good one there OneStep I read a long article about this, the author had tested Win 64 bit. Most of the trivial programs (even some windows native programs) refused to work. Some installed ok but then didn't work etc. I think I'll wait for a few yrs (judging on M$'s speed of developing STABLE environments) before I dive into a 64 bit version of windows. However I do have a 64 bit Ubuntu and FC3 lying here I also so little visual difference in the screen shots. So I don't think it's that awesome.
