decima526 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2005 if you have the right settings, they all work the same. it then just becomes a choice of preference. i prefer real player to watch movies and stuff like that just because i'm lazy and don't feel like searching through my files to find something i watched recently. the important thing is to have that codec thing on your comp and just close your eyes and pic which player you want to use. i do have the new divx, and i have to say that i'm impressed with it. Ocelot357 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2005 When i download small movie clips from websites (ebaumsworld type stuff), some of the files are .avi and my computer is being a little slow on the uptake and won't tell me what runs them. Anybody know which program? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Windows media player, Quicktime, Real player etc....... .avi is a standard file format. You comuter should be able to read it. Try updating the versions of the said programs.
earlymorningmist 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2005 They also play in Winamp... I downloaded and installed the DivX codec, configured my winamp to play all media files by default, and they place just peachy for me. Also play in PowerDVD though a *little* of the picture quality is lost.
Shadow X 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2005 I'm sure that Windows Media Player also plays .avi formatted files doesn't it? I think you can also use DivX to play them. Can someone please correct me if i'm wrong? Thanks.
