Phpnuke, Postnuke Or Other? Dilemma regarding CMS

Recommended Posts

Hello all!I'm a relative newbie to websites and all the extra's available etc.I was hosted on webmanage :P and unfortunately had no backup of my website...So, I'm looking for help at deciding what to use on my new site (when I get it).Being a bit daffy, I think postnuke was about as technical as I could get, without having a constant buddy to help me. So, I'd be looking at CMS's at about that level. I was just after suggestions of what prog's etc to use.... for my site I need to have:blogs photo albumsforumrecipe section - preferably searchablechatflashgamesand anything else you think would make it a better site :PAny suggestions appreciated, antonkelly

ok.. i'm creating this topic to give a ahn to new comers...
I began with phpnuke (grat cms...) but.... too many sites with it... i mean, my page seemed like a copy... that's not good!!!!!!!!!!

so, i migrated everything to xoops (a pretty extensive labor if you have 2 or 3 mb of MySQL data....)

so, now, i really like xoops.. although i don't know many cms.. deepply...

i would recommend http://www.opensourcecms.com/

PM me or respond here, i'll help u out if i can.. if i can't i'll help u out too!

E107 is good. I like it because it doesn't have all the security holes as PHP-Nuke. If you want to check it out, the link is posted below to their website. Once I get enough credits for hosting, I think I might use E107 here.

I haven't tried customizing it but I think it is easier than the Nukes. It has many themes and I find it easy to use. For member interaction, it includes a chat box too. But what really matters is the security of it!
