Xevian 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2005 Is the package for the preinstalled phpBB deleted? I have problems trying to install it. When I click on the install link, it just said that this feature is not approved by the site admin, need to get the admin to upgrade this feature... Is there some problem? szupie 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2005 (edited) Yeah, I got that too yesterday... I'll check if it works now...Nope, it still doesn't work... What's the cause of these problems? Is it the installations of new stuff? Changes of the server? Edited March 13, 2005 by szupie (see edit history)
Trekkie101 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2005 Admin sick of worrying his server will be compromised because of it? Maybe?Anyway I highly recomend SMF http://www.simplemachines.org/, I really doubt youll want to goto phpBB after trying this forum system out. Convertors are there if you want them. szupie 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2005 It seems like OpaQue's using Invision Power Board (Trial) here. I went to Invision's site to see how to download it, but found that it's unmodifiable. How did OpaQue make so much scripts for this forum, such as the Newest Topics at the bottom of the page and the Shoutbox? I heard that the Shoutbox was made by a member of this forum, not by Invision...
Trekkie101 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2005 Y'know I would still convert this place to SMF, I still feel it would be much better, obviously the mods would need converted but it would be great. But then although you can convert posts etc, it would maybe be too much trouble.
deivid1405241470 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2005 Invision is a great forum, it's more secure than phpbb, well, in my site i've too invision, and install mods and other things is a pain in ...., you have to follow a lot of instruccions, like find the code xxxxx and replace with xxxxx, or place above, etc. But when you get the install looks and works perfect. They are many places to download mods, graphics or skins. If some body wants install mods for invision i recommend: Inviosionizehttp://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Invisionhackshttp://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/Invisionskinshttp://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/Greets Deivid
jrdonjar0591 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2005 Yea, Invision is really good, On one of my old sites I used it and I have no problems with it.I like Vbulliten better though because you have more control of it. You should really check it out. If you like Invision then you would really like V. Better. I did.
Trekkie101 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 Have you checked the controls of SMF, you do control everything, it looks simple and basic but just click the permissions buttons and scroll past the easy stuff and then look at just what you can do, SMF gives you better than vB for free IMO
