chris1234 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 there was a useful post pointing vulneribility to the older version of firefox to phising, so i downloaded the latest one, and it just dont do nothing, (well it loads), cant get on the web and stuff. I am guess it is not just me??i tried looking at the help page and a load on nonsense about stuff and no answers, has anyone had the same problem?christhank goodness for IE, it never lets you down or loses your favourites or stops working, just lets a few pop ups in occasionally! Xeon 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Interesting. I had Firefox 1.0 and I upgraded to Firefox 1.0.1 with no problem. The versions are almost identical except Firefox 1.0.1 has some security vulnerabilities fixed. You should be able to install the new copy right over your old copy and it should work. Try redownloading the install file and reinstalling the browser. The downloaded install file may not have downloaded correctly the first time. Clear cookies completly and all internet historyb. Uninstall and reinstall firefox...I had a problem wiht it once...but it was my own fault so I uninstalled n reinstalled n it worked fine.C. I have never had a problem with FireFox and like anything else if an installation is not done correctly then you will have problems. Some people think that they will see the same things when they switch to FireFox like they see in IE. They don’t read the information provided and miss the fact that the most common extensions, plug-ins or what ever you want to call them ActiveX etc. that makes a browser vulnerable is what was left out of FireFox.Service pack is now a house hold word thanks to Microsoft but that will not make me not buy their products. Vulnerability is now a common word amongst computer users but wasn’t ten years ago. All software are vulnerable to exploits hence upgrades and service packs.Food for though: There are laws for people to abide by hence we have criminals. rapco 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2005 Well, i started using firefox i little while ago, so i have the 1.01.At the begining i had some problems trying to install flash plug-ins but then i discovered the trick to it... then i downloaded som extension to make it like Avant Browser (the one i was using prior to this one) and now it's GREAT!!!!!!Great and all, i still have problems trying to install java plug-ins... something wrong with it!!!!!!! moonwitch1405241479 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2005 Well, I have FF, been using FF since v0.4 or something. Because I got fed up with all popups, lacking security in IE. I recently upgraded to v1.0.1 and never had an issue. Other than one, which was not FF LOL (I will post about that soon ) I will second everyone with the uninstall/reinstall. Sometimes issues can also be caused by plugins that are not fully compatible with the new version of the browser and you may need to uninstall the plugins and get them again. Also be sure to check your connection settings, it seems like a stupid thing to mention, but even the best can forget a small detail like that. Great and all, i still have problems trying to install java plug-ins... something wrong with it!!!!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, you can turn off Java or limit it in FF, so that may be the issue with you installing Java-plugins.
