Good Grief Graphics 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2005 trap17 is now blocked by one of the two proxies used by my school that runs through the N2H2's filters. (lol, although few people know there's more than one and how to switch.)It was blocked as "E-Commerce." This means that there's a decent chance that it will be blocked under the other filtyer at school, and I will have to use a cgi proxy to access Xisto. I'm hoping that I won't have to, but it would really suck if I had to. Is there any way that Xisto could be taken off of that list? N2H2 also blocks free webhosting, but trap hasn't been blocked under that. I'm just wondering if there's any way that trap could be taken off of the list. It sure would be nice to know that I wouldn't have to worry about not being able to access this site.

Good Grief Graphics 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2005 google search for "allinurl: "nph-proxy.pl"" without the last two quotation marks. Alternately, replace the last part with "npho-proxy.cgi"
Good Grief Graphics 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2005 I mean the first and the last quotation marks.
GM-University 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Really, I don't see it as E-Comerce, maybe the forums, but the sites aren't nescarily, I hate it when schools enable those things, they don't work all the time...
Hamtaro 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 At my school, my Xisto site I can get to, but Xisto is blocked, but it's blocked just for "Message/Bulletin Boards". I don't know of any way to do that. However, we kinda "bypass" our proxy in a way at my school by using AltaVista's Babelfish service, and "translate" the page from some language other than English, to English. Graphics, and all that, won't show up, just text, and files that send out HTML output (Like PHP and Perl), no CSS. (Oh, and, by "we", I mean my friends, me, and a few other people). GM-University 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Wow, that's brilliant, you guys are pretty bright, nice bypass method, I lov e doing things like that, babelfish, who would have ever thought? Too bad about the no graphics thing though...
whyme 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 That's interesting, because Xisto isn't supposed to be blocked, but since it is a community forum, much of it isn't considered "aprropriate" for filters.
beeseven 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Whenever I need to get through something my school blocked I just go to https://www.megaproxy.com/. It goes past all the filters my school has and it's not that much slower. You also keep images and stuff like that.
krap 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 My school are quite smart. They block loads of stuff (porn etc.) but they block proxies too!! But I searched google for that thing and i found an unblocked one! Thanks G.G.G! And in my school everyone except me used to use Google's language tools. But no images though! My school for some reason blocked the IP that the hosted sites use here (not the forum) but i still posted even though it seemed pointless and got my hosting and used a proxy . But now my school unblocked the IP (or maybe it was changed. I dont know)
Casanova 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 The school in which I used to be also was also blocking translation tools because students were using them to bypass their stupid filters. Fortunatelly there are many free proxies avalible so it was a matter of making (at home) a list of the newer/smallers ones that havent been blocked yet.
