Yo Doc,

Can you paste in your error code so that we can see what has happened. Your explaination above does not give enough info to determine what the issue is. I have noticed that on some of the addon scripts you need to manually go in and chmod a few files especially the config.php ones. The default installs do not allow the file to be used properly.

the prefix is the install location...
it will usually default to /usr/ but you can change it with

./configure --prefix=/urs/installPath/

Umm could it be the database table prefix that it is asking?The tables are of this form in the database <prefix>_posts If this is the case, 'phpBB' should be fine.
