lhunath 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2004 WEP is a protocol.WLan is Wireless LAN.WEP is a protocol to secure transmissions over WLAN and can nowadays also be implemented in normal wired LANs.If the question you're asking is whether to install wired or wireless LAN, then say so, but that depends alot more on your environment and planned use, than our opinions. Use an acl, disable dhcp and set up your static list of assigned IP adresses yourself. then you don't need encription whatsoever:). but you will have to change those lists if you buy new computers or new NICS Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
