OpaQue 15 Report post Posted October 7, 2004 I recently came across this question, so I wanted to make a general record for this. hi dear feriend!i sent an email by my account(XXXXXXXX@XXXXXXX.com) to my feriendbut it went to bulk box .how i can solve these problem!?Best Regards! This happens when any user in the world clicks your email and Clicks SPAM. Those providers automatically notify others about it too and finally your email starts going to bulk. I think there is a list of spam email addresses and domains which are maintained at some place where various email providers can access. When someone sets your email as spam, unfortunately this happens and I haven't got any known solution. All one can do is to Ask their friend or client to WHITE LIST the email. Tell him to set it so that it comes in main folder. There is nothing that can be done from your site. You can use SMTP and send the email as some other company like anything@hotmail.com
prolifik 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2004 That happened to me once. I was checking my bulk mail folder in Yahoo mail and saw that one of the emails was from a friend of mine. I haven't received an email from that person before so there was no way for me to have blacklisted the address or categorized it as spam. However, the email had an attachment. I guess Yahoo considered it as spam and diverted it to the bulk mail folder.
sha1405241471 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2004 of course this is a common problem.in inbox of some domains like indiatimes.com when ever u click "spam" button after putting a "check" mark to the mail u will get a new screen which allows u to block the succeeding mails from the same address or the mails from the entire domain. if u click on "entire domain", every email from that domin will go to bulk with out notice...for example:if u get an email from advert@yahoo.comand if u click as "spam" and select "block mails from advert@yahoo.com" every email from this address will go to bulk. but by mistake you click "block every emails from yahoo.com" and forget removing from "blocked list" then every email from any user sending from yahoo.com will go to bulk without notice. so always block a specific emil address if u dont like but never from the entire domain..i hope u understood. chronogamer28 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2004 Gmail doesn't have their filters like that. Spam is considered when the sender's address is a bit weird and then it moves it to the Spam folder or Trash Folder. But I've been spam free lately!
FirefoxRocks 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 GMail has really good spam filters, Yahoo! Mail has really strict filters from personal experience. Most email clients nowadays (Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, etc) also have their own built-in spam filters, so they can be made compatible if necessary. I usually get around 20 or so spam messages in my GMail per day, but the spam filter has only made 2 mistakes in the past year and a half.Be careful of what you blacklist, you do not want to make the mistake of blacklisting everything from a specific domain (live.com, yahoo.com, hotmail.co.uk, gmail.com, shaw.ca, etc, etc). Your friends may still use those email providers, even though you don't.
Miles 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 I agree with firefoxrocks. GMail (or googlemail as it's called in the uk, gmail isn't allowed in the uk for some reason) has simply amazing spam filters. I've had spam cleared away so well that now I have a quick glance over the emails in the spam folder then delete them. It's very good that it can filter so well, as I get 50 spam posts a day at best, and once, I even recieved 150! Hotmail's spam filter, on the other hand, is nowhere near as good, only filters a few emails that are spam.
iGuest 3 Report post Posted March 2, 2008 I actually get a lot of mail in my spam folder that isn't spam, but forum registrations. I have Verizon Yahoo. I dislike their spam sorting.
