P2P programs(merged) What P2P program are you using?

Recommended Posts

I am using:

Limewire - It's a good program, much spyware free and easy to manage

DC++ - DC is also a good program, but much more advanced. But when you first can use it, you will see how good it is

Shareaza - A good bit-torrent program where you can find almost whatever you want

I use eDonkey only. It shares many files. But most computers need to be configured to get max performance :D And if you have LAN or you are behind router it could be difficult to get rare files at all. Then you must to "open ports". If you don't know what this is, your network administrator will surely know ;) So write down these digits and ask your network administrator to be gentle an open these ports. You can find them here in eDonkey:press OPTIONS button and choose NETWORK tab. Your ports are written in the button. You need both UDP and TCP.Next, your Windows firewall must forward these ports too. Difficult huh? :D That's why most people choose other P2P software, but not me :P I like eDonkey and I get everything I need from it. :P

Do you use P2P programs? If so, what program are you using? Most P2P programs have been known to carry adware and third-party software that installs itself in your pc and slows it down. Before, i tried using Bearshare, WinMX & Kazaa Lite.

Hi, you´re right. Most P2P Programs carry ad- spyware in it. I recently found LimeWire. A least they say its faster than Kazaa and doesn´t carry spy and adware. You can download a fdree lite version or buy the faster on for just 18$ or so. I download all my movies etc. with this program and it didn´t slow down my system

for me edonkey or bitorrents are the best p2p program i used so so. i can max out my connection with these peer2peer. its easy to find your file that you want to download too! but the only thing i hate about edonkey is about fake files. you download the named file you want. something like a divx film or mp3 music you been downloading for ages and it turns out to be different! it can even be XXX stuff.

I find one of the best to use is iMesh,Although it comes with spyware (LAME!), i haven't noticed a depreciation of internet speed, loading times etc. It was the first peer-to-peer program, and it is damn fast. Other than that, i use azureus for my torrents. Average download speed is 50 Kbps on a 512Kb connection, dependant on seeds and peers. Bittorrents are definately the best for albums/videos, but all the sites are rapidly being sued and closing,

I find IMESH is good, adware & spyware free, or, if you do a search on google, you can look for a free version of KaZaA LiTe which is spyware & adware free.

Also, for those who are struggling, I find LAVASOFT ADWARE is the best programme for getting rid of adware & spyware.

iMesh runs on the fasttrack network which is filled with viruses, pornography and fake files (mostly thanks to Kazaa, it used to be a great network which everyone used).I have since moved to eDonkey network and in particular the software called eMule which is in my mind by far the best p2p client in the world. The reason for this is even though the downloading speeds are atrotious, the files are of amazing quality and quantity especially. If there is an album that you can't find anywhere on the internet, have a try on eDonkey, you'll be very surprised.

Im using Limewire at the moment and of all that ive tried i find this the most reliable and efficient but these sites tend to come in and out like fashion because they get clogged with junk and viruses like Kazaa now is plus all of these that just swap track for track (in the case of audio) are completly rubbish in comparison to BitTorrent << that is the daddy

I've been using Kazaa Lite for the past two years and it runs fine on my computer. For a while you could still download it off of an archived webpage, but it has been removed. I have the .exe file if anyone wants it.
