first you need to have a html editorsecond u need to input this into your <head></head>and change the var url Address and var Pagename to suit your site url and site name

Thankyou wannabeeaweak,The problem is that often those scripts don't work with Firefox Users or Mozilla users. I believe it is important that the boomark script works for all types of browsers as mozilla/firefox are the up and coming browsers to date and more & more people are using them. I have experienced difficulties such as I have mentioned when a script similar to yuor for setting homepage and bookmarking works with IE, but unfortunately doesn't work at all with mozilla/firefox.When using Mozilla/firefox with that script nothing occurs, so it might be a javascript problem isn't it?Funnily the scripts isn't supported by some builds of mozilla/firefox yet still shows and doesn't show the javascript dialogue that the browser isn't supported

Yea thanks for the suggestion, as I said I am aware of that scripts issues with mozilla/firefox, just a suggestion you could possibly edit to enhance the compatibility of this script with mozilla/firefox browsers.

its super duper easy but the browser should be java enabled for this to work:just add this to a link--<a href="java script:addToFavorites()">Bookmark Current Page</a>and when user clicks this a favourites window will rise asking to bookmark the current page.i think you cannot bookmark a page from with in another page.

That is a terrible solution for a hidious problem.

Hidious problem:

For one, adding a page to bookmarks should never happen through scripting. I'm serious. No exceptions. If somebody wants to bookmark a page, he can always use the browser's bookmark function. Period.

Terrible solution:

The script you gave us only works in Internet Explorer, with JavaScript security set on medium or low (don't know by heart). And by the way, it's not Java enabled, it's JavaScript. There is an unbelievably huge diffrence between Java and JavaScript. One being that JavaScript is one of the most evil languages ever emerged, and Java being one of the most beautiful.
