vietpost 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 dot.tk is not a completely free domain provider at all. You can register a .tk domain to target it to your actual url to shorten your address. That's all. Besides, it is not all free b/c it "souvenirs" us an annoying pop-up. This is not a good choice if U want to have a professional website.Currently, you can register up to 25 REAL domain names at https://www.domaindiscount24.com/en at zero cost for 1 year, and ready to add it to your server name. Why don't you take this advantage?
daniel151405241469 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 i like .uni.cc domains; you can have an unlimited amount of them under the one account. Also, they are 'real' domains, ie. you can set the nameserver for them. Also, you can set them to dynamic dns forwarding (if you want to host on your computer but the ip of it keeps changing) or website forwarding (forward to an existing site
iGuest 3 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 .uni.cc is great but you I think you can't use another host. I did it long time ago bu not all hosts can host .uni.cc and .biz.ly.dot.tk is not that good to cause it will genarate ads on your website. Free domain names are OK but bad for business credibility.Hurry go to http://www.dotster.com/ or https://www.domaindiscount24.com/en and get those 25 FREE .info domain names. It's only upto September 27 so hurry!!!

Pay for the Domain Name in 99% of the cases & you will be better off

tux_linux 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2004 Very unfortunately, I don't have a credit card, else I'll register the free .info domain names already! I think there're a lot of people here who will face the same problem <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Do you know there is a country called Tokelau on our planet? I didn't know it either before blogopoly mentioned that I can get free top level domain from this country. It is small island some where in the world - I still didn't find a map with its name yet. Some crazy guys from the Dot TK team visited the atolls in September 2003 and presented what the Internet means to such a small country. They met with the Council of Elderly and concluded that they can use Internet to bring foods and medicines to the small country. The idea they thought of is to offer FREE .tk domain to the world. Of cause, not all domains are free. I tried to register wjs.com and I was told it cost 5000 USD. Free domains only support URL forward and you actually don't own the domain since the domain is not licensed to you. Having the story told, let me tell you can get from the island. If you have any fancy idea that you want get started quickly, but don't want those dynamics domain names, just visit DOT.TK and registered a FREE .TK domain name.Visitors to the domain is redirected to an URL you set. Hurry. Plenty of very good domain names are available. greetz
