rpgsearcherz 5 Report post Posted September 26, 2012 Hey all,I'm at the point in my project where I could use a web designer for helping out with some things. I can handle the coding side of things, but when it comes to the graphics, I'm really lacking. The same goes with finding the perfect layout and better understanding "usability" standards and whatnot.I'm curious as to if anyone here would be interested in helping out on a real-world project. I don't really have anything I can give in return right now, but I figured it would help give some hands-on experience, as well as possibly be a fun little puzzle. You can, of course, always use it as part of a portfolio or something as well.If anyone's interested in helping out with it, let me know! Thanks!
cityzen 1 Report post Posted September 26, 2012 I would be really glad to help you. Just tell what your requirements are and I'll give you a few drafts to see if it feets to your needs, no offense if it doesn't, games are a very specific branch.Cheers

velma 6 Report post Posted October 2, 2012 I am going to blatantly advertise the fact that xisto also does web designing Now Coming to the project, because you are giving KS members a chance to help you which is great , it comes in very handy if you know what kind of design work you need so to avoid miscommunication / dissatisfaction at the end of the day. There are a few things you need to think out yourself before involving a web designer because you know your project best. Do you have a particular theme in mind or colors you want to incorporate? Is your logo ready? Logos help in setting up the perfect color palette and theme. Is your audience from one sect (youngsters, oldsters or mixed) Is it going to be a static or a dynamic website? Websites you like. These come in handy since a designer can understand your taste/choice better. Is it a website that is content driven or graphics driven. Your designer can utilize space best when they know how much space they have. Deadlines & budgets. Being transparent about your deadlines & budget is very helpful when choosing your designer and alsoThese are common questions any web designer would ask you to understand the scope of the project. So take your time and let us know when you are ready. We are always happy to help 2 mamer and cityzen reacted to this

rpgsearcherz 5 Report post Posted October 25, 2012 Hey, thanks for the responses. I've been extremely ill lately so haven't been able to work on the project. I'm not quite to the "showing" stage yet but am getting very close. Once I'm there, I'll definitely share a link and more information about what I'm looking for. Usually when designing for myself I go for the colors and layout that I like most. It seems that I need to consider age groups and and other categorizations in my audience. Thank you for that. rpgsearcherz 5 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 Hey, sorry I haven't been back around this thread in a while! I haven't forgotten about it or anything, I've just been altering the project a lot. I'm working out details on scalability and such, as I want to ensure everything is done "right" the first time around instead of having to be re-done yet again in the future. It's a fairly large project I'm taking on, but I'm confident it'll all work out (and I'm learning along the way!).
