sheepdog 10 Report post Posted September 2, 2012 So, I've been mulling around in my mind for months now how best to add some information to my web site and would like some input as to which way it would best suite my customers. What I have now are individual pages on my site, a page for each of my breeds, and when I have pups available in that breed I activate the link to it from on the main page. Right now all I put on it is the basic information about the current litter of pups, date of birth, pictures that sort of thing. What I would like to ad is some personal information about the breed, not the stuff you can find on a multitude of other sites, like the specific standards for size height, weight, etc, you normally find. I want something more personal, like why I like that particular breed, or a funny story about one of my own dogs, or something important that prospective customers really should know about the breed they may not really hear or understand from another site. I just can't decide which would be best. Should I list this information at the top of the page, so they have to scroll down past it to actually see what pups I have available, or should I get right to the business at hand and have the pups and their information at the top of the page? Ananya 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2012 I think if you put pups and their information at the top of the page straightway it would let anyone visiting your site getting a glimpse of everything related to your pups just by looking at the main page. Since you want everyone getting a slight information before they visit the individual pages dedicated to every breed so that would make anyone see at a glance how distinct information your site is providing compared to any other sites. rpgsearcherz 5 Report post Posted September 10, 2012 It may be better to have separate pages for the information ('extra' info) and the more important things (like the puppies you have available). From here, you'd want the more important stuff to be seen first, and then you could link to the extras. It could be something like: Information about the puppies here Pictures and etc... whatever, info For more information about (my experience | my puppies | etc.) click here! This would help you handle the business side of things first, while allowing those that are interested in your other information have it readily available. Maybe I need to take some advertising classes. I know there are a ton of tricks to the advertising trade. Be nice to know a few of them. If you want to see how things would look and to get better opinions from us, you could also design a few pages simulating the various ways you see it working out, and then we can see your real-world implementation and help give input based on that. Without actually seeing the designs themselves, it's hard to really judge. You could also, if you don't want to design the working pages, do designs in something like Photoshop or something and show like that. Basically anything to help us understand how you envision everything.
