ritu 1 Report post Posted July 14, 2012 Apple has taken a serious move in order to restrict its rival Samsung in attaining roaring sales for its products Samsung's Galaxy Tab and Nexus smartphone.According to the latest court filings, Apple has sent retailers, letters for not selling the mentioned Samsung products. The letters are described to have a copy of the court-ordered injunction, as well as a postscript suggesting that retailers are "acting in concert" with Samsung by selling its products and thus must obey the court order. The notice, according to Mueller of Foss Patents, was sent out by Apple on June 28 for Galaxy Tab 10.1 and for Galaxy Nexus on June 3.It all started between the tech giants as Apple decided to sue Samsung last April, stating the latter had gone ahead to copy features related to software and design.Samsung retaliated by suing back. Since then, both of the companies have been trying to pull each other's sales down by dragging in patent issues.I personally feel that both the organizations should focus more on development of technology in their devices to make them better rather than trying hard to beat stiff competition.Everything should be tried and tested beforehand to ensure both its high handedness and user friendliness so that they taste success in the markets. What do you guys feel about this? KingMufasa 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2012 Haha. Too funny. Not much you can really say here, there will always be someone big dog company trying to take over or shut down another big dog company for the sales. Its all about money, nothing else. I myself have an iPhone and an iPad (which im writing this on now) and I have just purchased a galaxy s 3 because it looked better. I know a lot of people who are doing the same. I don't know what it is but android is starting to pull through, especially with there jellybean update coming soon. All they can do is try to take each other down and if I was Samsung, I would be proud that apples lawyers knocking on my door, means they are getting worried about the success of what I was doing. They will never succeed in sueing each other, just wasting time and money. Surprised apple have let off Microsoft and gone for Samsung actually, wondering if all will change when Microsoft get into the tablet game although, a little too late if you ask me, but that's a different subject all together. ritu 1 Report post Posted July 18, 2012 That's exactly the point I wanted to make.It is hard to believe that successful and established organizations like Apple and Samsung can indulge into such petty activities diverting a lot of time and money simply to be wasted. They could have motivated their people to strive for convenience and advancement in the features, so that the worrying factor could have taken a back seat.Further what is this suing business going to bring them except negative publicity? probably they believe in "Any publicity is good publicity"
Quatrux 4 Report post Posted July 18, 2012 I agree, any publicity is a good publicity for their brand names. I think they have separate departments which work just on this issues, as Apple is a company, but in my opinion Samsung is a much bigger organization, it South Korea, as I know it manufactures ships and automobiles and don't forget all the household appliances they manufacture and sell. I can't imagine how can they control everything :DSo those patents in my opinion isn't such a big thing for them, but quite a good publicity, even though it would seem much better if they work together for better devices, but as it was said about two big dogs, their objective is get as much money as possible, so they "fight" for money? KingMufasa 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2012 I think the main point they are trying to prove is that they will not be messed with and they will go to ridiculous lengths to show it. Yes, as stated above, any publicity is good publicity.
