iGuest 3 Report post Posted February 11, 2012 I have a Droid and use it to access the internet. Occasionally I get a message informing me that my device can perform faster if plugged in to high speed port. It gives me a list of unused ports to use. Not sure what to do. Any advice? k_nitin_r 8 Report post Posted October 27, 2013 Many computers have a combination of USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. The USB 2.0 ports have a lower data transfer rate than the USB 3.0 ports, so your computer is suggesting that you use one of the USB 3.0 ports instead. You are not likely to see much higher speed from switching to the USB 3.0 port from the USB 2.0 port unless you have a really fast mobile Internet connection. A USB 3.0 port is recommended for connecting two computers together for data transfers, for connecting fast hard disk drives, or for connecting high speed broadband Internet connectivity devices.
