The 7439, in the 7400 series of chips, is a quad NAND-gate chip with each NAND gate having two inputs. That actually looks just like my IC. I'm pulling it out of a radio/dual tape player/5 disc cd player. Thanks for the help. That "I" my have been a "T". It was slightly fading and hard to read in the lighting that I was.
