Blanc Or Change Administrator Password Or Only Log In Into The Account Using A Limited Account

Hello all, I have a huge problem in my laptop, I'm kinda maniac of computers but its only because I like them, I was "playing" in cmd with passwords and I used for the first time "net user" (I'm the only admin, all other accounts are deactivated) and I changed the admin password....... the problem is that now I don't know the pass and I alredy logged out.Now I'm using a very limitated account "guest" and in that account I can't do NOTHING neither create a folder or access the internet........ I lost 80 Gb of data that its important, MUSN'T format and I have used many things to restore my admin accout back(I'm going to use "me" as admin name)1. net user me *..when I use this kind error 5 in system ocorred2.press Ctrl + Alt + DEL on log on window (when we choose the account) type Administrator and press enter..what nothing does3. enter in safe mode..when I enter in safe mode I have to type the pass (I don't know it, nothing solves)4. My teacher tryed to use cmd too with "tree" and other things to enter the lost accoun.. problem not solvedSo, what I want to do is kinda hack the system, but that is necessary, all I want is recover my dataif you know some free boot program (I'm from europe and I don't understand nothing of dollars) to delete all passwords please let me know

To solve your problem... its not easy, it is possible but i dont know how. I do however know how to save your data:

 

Get an ubuntu live CD. Ubuntu is linux and you can run it direct from the CD. http://www.ubuntu.com/

 

go there and download the ISO file. Use 7zip (download it) or something similar to copy the contents of the ISO file to a CD (you could also use roxio or similar)

 

Once burned put the CD in the problem laptop, restart and boot from CD. Choose "Try ubuntu without making changes" and select your language. It will take a while to boot but once it does go to "Places" at the top of the screen then choose "80gb media" (or similar) you are looking for your C drive so look in all the drives for "WINDOWS" then you know youve hit the C drive. Find "documents and settings" then your username and copy the my docs folder. You can also find all the other data you need to keep.

 

From that point if you have the windows install discs you can try a "repair" using the disc. It may delete your files however. It is likely that you will loose your files if you change the password anyway as windows uses your password to encode the files and link them to you so if the password changes you no longer "own" those files. But you will be able to access them using ubuntu. It ignores windows security

Sorry, Its the first time I use a forum, relly sorry, but.... when you say "Find documents and settings then your username and copy the my docs folder" what do you mean? copy to where? the cd?? I have a hard drive with 80Gb and I have space for more 200Mb or so, that's why I don't wand to lose is all, its full with many important things, if possible I want to go cmd again and do something else to solve

Copy to some safe location in your hard drive. That means, for example you have C, D, E partitions on your hard drive. Usually your Windows OS is on C drive. If your important data is on C: drive then copy that data to D: or E: (while running ubuntu live cd). Then you can safely reinstall your windows again, or ubuntu on your system (on your C drive). Your data will be safe.

Hello, understood, but problem solved, I didnt use that prog, but thank you, now I'm using the admin account I lost, there is a boot cd that resets the pass of the admin, I was trying to download it on net but a friend of mine have it with him, I used Herin's BootCD, very usefull, (not only to blanc pass) I learned the lesson, I'm gona make partitions, if I couldn't find that boot cd I would have to save all data that way, thank you again Edited December 18, 2009 by HeadMaster7 (see edit history)
