Ubuntu 9.04 Update - 404 Error Missing CUPS packages for Ubuntu 9.04 update

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I've been having a problem with updates on Ubuntu 9.04 - the CUPS packages are shown in the list of updates, but when I select then and select install, it returns a 404 error. The error occurs only for the CUPS packages and not for any other packages.

Has anyone else been experiencing the same issue?

The exact error I get is:

W: Failed to fetch http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ 404 Not Found

Regards

Looking at the listing of CUPS packages, I think this is the one it should be looking for:

[ ] cups-client_1.3.9-17ubuntu3.1_i386.deb 03-Jun-2009 14:09 113K

You can most likely install it yourself by downloading that file and installing it manually (I think you can just right click and hit Install, I know you can on Kubuntu). That should hopefully get rid of the request for an update, but it may no longer keep you automatically up-to-date for that package.
