chaos3932 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2009 I have lead my clan for over 5 years now and at one time we were going strong. But ever since then we deteriorated to nothing. So I was wondering if anyone had good advice on building/leading a successful clan site. For the past 5 years I used the strategy of recruiting members on a temp basis and making them prove themselves by both posting on our site and being active in the game. I would also attempt to make divisions for other games but that never panned out due to lack of good leaders to make those divisions....It is just frustrating how in heck do you convince people to goto your clan site and post actively? kobra500 1 Report post Posted March 23, 2009 Well, there are two types of people who should visit your site: Clan Members, People interested in joining. If you wanna get people in, Advertise to your clan members to visit the site, if you put all the details on there, they'll have little choice but to visit it. Make sure you advertise on Games forums such as Gamebattles to get people to join. As for what your site must contain: Clan Statistics, Games, Contact/Join information. Best Content Management System to use would be possible E107 though skins are a little hard to find. But you could use anything you prefer. Just make it easy to use, forums etc. Track Game Statistic and Good Luck with your Clan.
Cezve 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2009 (edited) I noticed that having an active forum improves things a lot. If you have a clan with a large community, like a raiding WoW guild etc, it's not hard to have an active forum. In small communities, you can encourage activity in forums with forum games, trivias and quizzes. They could be related to game lore etc in case of MMORPG's. You can give in game rewards to winners. You could do weekly lotteries and many other activities depending on your clan type. And in general, I guess you could just make forum/clan site activity mandatory if you're really serious about it. Afterall, being a part of a clan isn't just about logging in the game. Edited March 24, 2009 by Cezve (see edit history)
