-Sky- 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 Hello.Me and innosia have tried adding our links to Google's URL crawl page, but Google wont verify. He says it works for the paid Xisto hosting, but not the free. I've tried Yahoo and Google and they both will not verify. I've tried adding the meta tag, and file to the cPanel File Manager and tried re-verifying but theres no use.I've tried refreshing, reloading the page, clearing my cookies but Google says server timeout. Is Xisto blocking Google, or is Google blocking Xisto? Help with be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Sky

We register Google Webmaster Tools, so we will need to create a filename from google and upload it to our hosting space in Xisto.2. After uploading it, then we use Google Webmaster Tools to verify the existence of the file, but it always say failed to verify3. Me and Sky try the same thing again and again and failedBut just now, I have tried to ask google to verify it again and it has succeed verifying, but sky is not around, hopes to tell him this good news. -Sky- 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 Spill the beans then innosia. And what was the problem? Was Google's server just having a crashed timeout or something?Anyways, glad to hear theres a fix, and some good news. One thing though, I could register with Google on my old GTA site (hosted by SabreHost) but I couldn't this morning on Trap. -Sky

Now have you try using the webmaster tools Sky? Try for first, creating a sitemap, for each sub forum create a link, read this http://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.html <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><urlset xmlns="sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9/; <url> <loc>central-gaming.trap17.com/; <lastmod>2005-01-01</lastmod> <changefreq>monthly</changefreq> <priority>0.8</priority> </url> <url> <loc>forums.central-gaming.trap17.com/; <lastmod>2005-01-01</lastmod> <changefreq>monthly</changefreq> <priority>0.8</priority> </url> <url> <loc>forums.central-gaming.trap17.com/showforum.php?id=subform1; <lastmod>2005-01-01</lastmod> <changefreq>monthly</changefreq> <priority>0.8</priority> </url> <url> <loc>forums.central-gaming.trap17.com/showforum.php?id=subform2; <lastmod>2005-01-01</lastmod> <changefreq>monthly</changefreq> <priority>0.8</priority> </url> <url> <loc>forums.central-gaming.trap17.com/showforum.php?id=subform3; <lastmod>2005-01-01</lastmod> <changefreq>monthly</changefreq> <priority>0.8</priority> </url></urlset>Then save the file into sitemap.xml put it in your hosting account, and use the webmaster tools and add the url to it, about 2-3 hours google will crawl your sitemap, and the result will be shown in google search, this is convenient and very good way to optimize Google Search to your site. --- hi -Sky- have you followed creating the file as the codebox above? your url address is at <loc></loc> tag, remember that some url might contain & such as : hxxx://http://forums.xisto.com/index.php?act=post&pid=123123 replace : hxxx://http://forums.xisto.com/index.php?act=post&pid=123123 replace the & with & change hxxx to http Notice from serverph: merged. TheDisturbedOne 1 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 If Google doesn't wat to index your site, (and you have a free .trap17 domain) I would suggest using a http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ domain (free sub such as .net.tc). That is how Google indexed me before. MSN was the best for me though. They Indexed my site within hours, and they ranked it quite high
Diffusr 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2008 Although there is no doubt google is massively significant in the field of online advertising, I think it's a good idea to put your feelers out into other areas. Google are so huge and dominant they get to pretty much do as and when they please. Your adwords keywords have been puttering along fine at 20cents...now it's $5 and what are you going to do about it?Relying too much on just Google for your online promotion is quite dangerous. Have a contingency plan to get you out of the heat.It would be good to see some more of the smaller search engines used and promoted more.

-Sky- 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) May I ask why your discussing a little conversation in this thread? :lol:The main thing is this little problem has been resolved. Google.com is indexing my website/forum now, so we don't really need this open anymore...right?The GoogleBot has crawled my site now 115 times. Archive.org has crawled 26 times.
