How To Add Images

Recommended Posts

ok, I assume from what you are saying you are trying to make a site using some pre set up website. What kind are your trying to make (did you use a template or some sort of CMS liek wordpress or joomla)Are you trying to add images to the page and need to know the code (if so the html code for images is <img src="LINK-TO-IMAGE-HERE"> ) (make sure not to steal bandwidth by linking to other people's images)Are you trying to upload the image and don't know where to put it?

well im tryin to make my site look ecactly like this one
http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

so those are the imaes.

its all premade

Well first of all that site has quite a bit more than just some images placed in there. Theres some flash, and some pretty complex css. You said "its all premade", you mean they are giving you the source code for that website to you? And perhaps the code links to all of the images locally? If that is the case they should provide you with all of the image files and where to upload them (such as in /images/ etc...), that is if they are a decent code distributor. Perhaps if you explained more about how you came about this website and where exactly they linked to this page it might be more helpful. If you don't know, or they didn't give you any images, then you have your work cut out for you. You need to look through the source for any images, go to that url and download them from that site/upload them to your server.

Ok so if it all works what is the problem? Or are you saying it worked on a different webhost and not Xisto? I can't give you a "step by step" instruction on how to do it if you don't even explain properly what it is you want to be done.

Ok that doesn't help me much but I think I kind of understand now. Did you make sure to copy all of the files over? If you did it is probably an issue with the code referencing a full url instead of just a directory. Perhaps if you gave us a link to your website and not the demo page we could help you out more.

this is supposed to be your URL, derryck? http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

derryck did not seem to catch up with his credits yet. it goes to a suspension page. when you raised your credits enough and had your site unsuspended, i would suggest you check out the HOTLINK PROTECTION feature on your cpanel.

if you have enabled it, you should put in the URLs you allow access to those images. if you don't see your site URL there (including a variation with WWW prefixed), this might be the reason why you are not able to view the images. of course, another reason could be that you have not fully uploaded all the images that you need for your site, or that they are incorrectly referenced (could be that you have an incorrectly-named folder where you uploaded it).

check out these stuff soon, then get back to us.
