Carson 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 On my forum it says that I have a 2mb upload limited. Apparently this is host related? I was wondering if it is ok to have this increased? And if so, how would I go about increasing it?
Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 It can't be hosted related, most likely you have to change the upload limit in your forum settings, but it has been a long time since I seen the back end of a forum so I would say it would have to deal with member group permission settings to change that. rvalkass 5 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 As S_M said, most forums have an option in the administration panel to change the upload limit. It really depends on which forum software you are using as to where that option may be hidden. Most of the time it'll be either in General Settings somewhere or will be defined in permissions and user groups. Take a poke around and you'll find it somewhere. Carson 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Maximum file sizes allowed (in kB)Your host has limited the maximum file upload size to 2M. You cannot set this value any higher than the maximum your host has set. That is the setting to change the limit. I've been on support boards for the forum software, and seen similar topics. It even tells you there how to change your host files so you can increase the limit. Since this is not supposed to be host related, can I do that myself? Carson 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2007 Thanks, but I figured out another method that worked before I read your post. I opened the .htaccess file in my forum directory, and added the line: php_value upload_max_filesize XM, replace the X with the number of MB. This topic can be closed now.
