Have You Played The Sims 2? Rate your experience with The Sims 2

Just being a little curious here. I personally played The Sims 2 and it is okay. The problem is that it runs slow even on brand new Alienware computers. I have played it for a while. I hate the censorship so I applied the no censorship patch. The game is too girlish for me, so I gave it up recently. It will perhaps be more suitable for my little sister...

I've just bought a laptop recently with Centrino technology and all those thiings. But i still can't play sims 2!!! Unbelieveable! Bascially, i successfully installed it but my computer shut itself down automatically when i tried loading the game. (i can't even go to the main menu).Does anyone have any suggestion, please? my comp spec:Pentium-M 1.5 MHz256 MB RamIntel Extreme video card (can't remember which model)spare 4 GB in hard drive after installationwindow XP

I have it and it runs smoothley
2200Mhz AMD Athlon XP
512Mb RAM
120Gb Hard drive
120Mb graphics card...

It takes forever to load on my computer, but it runs pretty smoothly. The only things is the amount of time it takes to load each thing (the game, the neighborhood, each house, the create a family, etc., each takes awhile to load, which is annoying, but I'm usually listening to music so it doesn't matter too much). Just a little cool thing, there's an intro movie thing, unlike in Sims Makin' Magic.

I've never played The Sims 2, but I've played TS1 and I think it really sucks. Make friends, got a job, clean the home? I don't need a game to do it, I have my life! I have never played TS2 and I cant say anything about it, but if it is like TS1.... Sorry if you feel offended, but I am just posting my opinion

I see where you are coming from, I have to admit that I dont realy enjoy the main gamelay of it, I just like building the houses, making custom content and making my sims site

I have played the game, I sorta like it, It wasnt that amazing. It was far better the originals, but not that overly exciting.
