Š2004 Xisto Corporation. All rights reserved I got enough credit to apply for hosting and I did and I got approved yesterday. So I went to activate my account at https://support.xisto.com/, I filled out the form and submitted it and I got the page quoted above. The first problem is when I follow this link http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Access Cpanel at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, it doesnt work. The second problem is that You can access ftp at ftp.omarali.us.com there shouldn't be a .com at the end of the ftp link. And does anyone know why it kept displaying Flag 1 Failed!Flag 2 Failed!Flag 3 Failed! Another thing is before I applied I had 38.something credit. And this morning I only have 1.45 credits left.Does anyone have any advice or any comments ?
Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 MAN!! I know the solution to your flags but I haven't seen that problem in awhile so I don't know the topic for it. Disregard the .com for your ftp that is a typo in the email sent to you, and as for your credits your hosting account has been accepted, because you are maroon and so you should be able to to access your cpanel.hmm the ip address could be old so use this one http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Or if you look at the top of the forum, click the Free Web Hosting Drop Down menu and log in from there.
omarsdali 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 I tried this one http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and it doesnt load in my browser (Opera) or in IE. The link in the drop down menu at the top of the forum links to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and that doesn't work either.I went to https://support.xisto.com/ and I click on number 9 and put in my username and password and it said INVALID USERNAME AND PASSWORD!. Do you think my account never got created because of the flag errors ??I just put my forum username in here https://support.xisto.com/ menu number 9 and I got this: Member Group is set properly...Credit System Stage 1 Check ... Passed!CREDIT CHECK ........ Passed.Credit System Stage 3 Check ... Passed!Credit System Stage 2 check .... Passed!YOUR CPANEL USERNAME IN OUR RECORD IS : "omarali"If the above username is *NOT* your Cpanel username, then it will terminated after next Account Tally Cycle.SUCCESS!Your Account configuration has no problems. No Errors Reported. What doesn't make any sense to me is the url to cpanel isnt even opening in my browser ?!
BuffaloHelp 24 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 OpaQue is busy at the moment to fix typos. To access your cpanel, it's just http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Do not use https Do not use port number and cpanel, i.e. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ -- this port number is opened to cpanel so you're requesting two-same service, which leads to a blank page. The suggested method of accessing your cpanel, which is stated in Xisto Readme (refer to my signature) is: your_domain_name.ext/cpanel DNS will automatically resolve alpha-characters into IP address. I can see that your Group has changed to [HOSTED] this also confirms that you are hosted correctly by Xisto. Thank you.
omarsdali 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 I checked these links in https://www.alertra.com/ and they are not working http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/I don't if the cpanel page is temporarily down or what is the problem.I don't care about typos, I just want to get the hosting working. Is there any reason why I am missing about 7 credits. rvalkass 5 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 The domain name you appear to have used, omarali.us is already in use by someone else. So, you won't be able to use that to get to your hosting. BuffaloHELP has provided the correct address to log in to cPanel: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I have just checked it and was able to log in to my account, so it works. If you still can't access it using that address then it is possible it is a problem with your browser settings or something similar. The reason your credits dropped from 38 to 1.45 is because your credits are reset when you accept a hosting account. No matter how many credits you had, you will always be given around 2 credits after you become hosted.
BuffaloHelp 24 Report post Posted December 4, 2007 Ah... I should have known to trust my instinct...1) does the domain name belong to you, purchased by you? Xisto only provides free sub-domain name. You can qualify for free domain name once you become a hosting member and hosting credits at least 280.2) I can see your default index page http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ so the reason you may not be able to see your domain is that the domain name does not belong to you.3) if you have Internet Explorer you must click on YES to Alert Message allowing you to view login page. Using Firefox you'll notice immediate login pop-up window. If you have a pop-up blocker or firewall preventing any secure login script you will not be able to use cpanel. omarsdali 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 (edited) The Cpanel login page is working now, I guess at the time I was trying it was down or something which is weird because I thought Xisto was suppose to be a reliable host. I even used https://www.alertra.com/ which checks any url from different locations around the world and it confirmed that the login page was down and that the problem wasn't from my browser. The domain name you appear to have used, omarali.us is already in use by someone else. That someone else is the same person as me. As I said in my application I am moving from a different host (freehostia.com) to Xisto.BuffaloHELP has provided the correct address to log in to cPanel: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/I have just checked it and was able to log in to my account, so it works. If you still can't access it using that address then it is possible it is a problem with your browser settings or something similar. The address is working now, however, at the time of starting this topic it wasn't working. The reason your credits dropped from 38 to 1.45 is because your credits are reset when you accept a hosting account. No matter how many credits you had, you will always be given around 2 credits after you become hosted. Thanks for clearing that up, I wish I had applied for hosting as soon as I had reached 30 credits.1) does the domain name belong to you, purchased by you? Xisto only provides free sub-domain name. You can qualify for free domain name once you become a hosting member and hosting credits at least 280.Yes, the domain name belongs to me, I purchased it and I am the one using it.2) I can see your default index page http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ so the reason you may not be able to see your domain is that the domain name does not belong to you.The problem wasn't seeing my domain, it was seeing the cpanel login page. Thanks for your help guys, I just have one question left, I have dns service for my domain with zoneedit and I'm using google apps for my email, my question is can I just use Xisto just for hosting the website without having to move the dns service too? I looked at cpanel and couldn't find dns management anywhere. Edited December 5, 2007 by omarsdali (see edit history)

The nameservers you need are:ns1.trap17.comns2.trap17.com

Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 Well that would explain all the flags because of the domain, but why would your google applications not work if they are connected to your email? YOu comparing apples and oranges with that, and as for DNS management the closes you have in a trap account is add-on domains and parked domains. What Rvalkass is trying to say is that you need to add the NS1 servers to your domain name and then park it on your trap account, which you have. If your google applications like web analytics or adsense all your doing is just adding the code snippets to them on your site and thats it.Like buff mention I can't believe I missed it either, but before you used a purchased domain make sure its not connected to anything, but not that your domain is set to the right servers, you can connect to the cpanel, and no it was never down as I was able to access it all week; nonetheless I think most of your problems are solved which is a good thing.By the way Xisto is reliable but they do suffer downtimes like everyone else, and so before making that claim make sure it wasn't user error first. omarsdali 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 (edited) but why would your google applications not work if they are connected to your email? YOu comparing apples and oranges with that, ...... If your google applications like web analytics or adsense all your doing is just adding the code snippets to them on your site and thats it.I didnt mean analytics or adsense when I said google apps. Google apps gives users Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Talk accounts that use your own custom domain. To learn more about google apps go to https://www.google.com/enterprise/apps/business/ By the way Xisto is reliable but they do suffer downtimes like everyone else, and so before making that claim make sure it wasn't user error first.I beleive you that Xisto is reliable, otherwise they wouldnt have all these users. But I did make sure that the problem wasnt from me by using https://www.alertra.com/ they check your website from different location around the world to see if it's working. btw in Cpanel it says the server last rebooted 160 days ago, so maybe there was a problem with the datacenter's network ?? and as for DNS management the closes you have in a trap account is add-on domains and parked domains.acctually the closest was Modify Mail Exchanger (MX Entry) because it allows you to set the MX records for your domain. add-on domains and parked domains do not allow you to set A records or CNAME records. This is the default setup for a Xisto account: user points domain to ns1.trap17.com and ns2.trap17.com and the dns service and email and web hosting are all hosted at Xisto. This is what I want to do: point my domain to zoneedit, from zoneedit I will point my email to google and point the webhosting to Xisto. ( I already tried this and it works see omarali.us without the www, its hosted at Xisto, but if you go to http://www.omarali.us/with the www it's still hosted at previous host. The problem that arises right now is that Xisto's dns server has wrong information about my domain. does anyone know how do I disable the dns part from my hosting account or at least change it?
