Please Do Not Upload Adult Images - Accounts Will Be Banned Imagefilez TOS re-visited

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

Starting on with Good news first. We have moved Imagefilez.com on a new & more faster dedicated server and the site is now loading really fast, so you guys can upload all your images ;)

Now some serious stuff is that we were spammed some days back, with the upload of adult images in huge numbers from some Japanese/Chinese IP's, we have deleted all the images & also banned these IP's. I request you all not to upload pornographic images or we will be forced to delete your account & also BAN your IP. We really don't want to compromise the image hosting experience for our members.

So start sharing your images & let's make imagefilez as one of the best image hosting sites on the web

Amit.

Don't get me wrong, I think that you did the right thing deleting those images and banning those IP's but it kind of bothers me that you are watching all of the images that we upload. I was under the impression it was private

I would also like to think that some service like this is completely private but this is impossible. I suppose other popular image hosting services has the same filters and can only be applied by browsing what people uploads. The same with youtube I guess. If you want something private, then buy a hosting (that allows you to host whatever you want) and then share the links from there. If uploading porn you're risking the service, then you shouldn't.

Porn? Why would someone want to show naked pictures of themself anyway.. I beleive that if someone wants pleasure then they should simply get with someone of the oposite agender instead of searching for innapropriate pictures. Also the net is being over-run with porn and viruses. Making it unsafe

I think it's good that social networks, which would also include image sharing sites, are being watched. I'm sure they don't check every image uploaded, but probably randomly check images, especially from IPs uploading tons of images. If an IP is found uploading bad content then the IP's images are more thoroughly checked. I think it's good practice to protect the reputation of the site. In my belief anything on your computer or system you are allowed to view/filter/check. Images uploaded to image sharing sites fall under the jurisdiction of that site.

Hi Guys, On an image hosting site there should be some moderation in place to control the amount of content that is uploaded. Also the porn images are just uploaded to spam the servers. We really don't want compromise the image hosting experience of the members on our site.On an average about 2000 + images are uploaded (we went down on that) & I am trying my best to moderate all the images that are uploaded. Even I am human, If you find any image that is pornographic in nature or you think that should not be on our site, Just send me a pm and I will delete that image. So If you have a really personal or private image which you do not even me to have a look at, then please don't upload it to protect your privacy. Please let me know... If i have missed any point in replying to your questions.

Stopping a flood is one thing, but banning adult art is annoying. It annoys me how many sites do this. There's nothing wrong with adult art. If people would stop being so paranoid maybe it'd be accepted as something more beautiful. Obviously there's a line between beautiful and not. But as an adult artist (not photography but through the use of other mediums) I find rules like this to be truly annoying and degrading.

If you have a really private image, then upload it to myspace, or flickr, something. Imagefilez, or any other photo sharing site shouldn't really be used to upload private images that you do not want others to see.

yeah people should not upload "adult" images. what i don't understand is the terminology people use these days (yes this is a little off topic). i mean movies for children are called "family" movies when the parents don't like it. and porn and stuff like that isn't "safe". what the hell does "safe" mean in this context. but yeah it does kind of bug me the terms we use but anyway that is aside from the point.Xisto is not a porn site. if you want porn there are plenty of other places. its good that were keeping Xisto family friendly and safe so that children can feel protected.^_^

Most of the time is the spam bots who are causing the adult images. Most of the times, real members like you and I won't be uploading any porn, but these weird Chinese or Indian spam bots are always the ones who are posting the weirdest crap.

Actually from what I can read Xisto doesn't check into users sites until a complaint is made. I read in one of the many rule pages posted that they don't take accountability for what's being hosted, and they'll take action if it's illegal. Course there's no porn on the forums and obviously not imagefilez. Course I'm not hosting any of my art here. I just wanted to clear up that the terminology that people use is often offensive. Thanks for your time. <3

Hey,Speaking about image hosting. I know that we can upload some images and host it under Xisto, but are we allowed to let peoples host their images on our Xisto? I mean if I have friends and a big group of peoples in my university department wants to have a space where we can post our images of lab reports, pictures taken from different stuffs and even some personal pictures etc etc (Kinda like an image hosting, but for a private group of university). Or will this be considered as illegal because it will be like a hosting account. Because I've read the rules of the hosting and it wasn't specified anywhere that we cannot host images, but only can't host files. So I was wondering if I am allowed to do this or I just tell them post links of their pictures instead. Thanks you for answering!Tim.
