Issues Pointing Domain To The Right Nameservers... [resolved]

Recommended Posts

Allright so yeah...

Just got hosted at Xisto - Web Hosting got the s9 package or w/e...

anyways... heres what dns reports says...

http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnsreport.chclashofages.com/

and yeah...

the nameservers are what we have in our account info when we login

any ideas to why this is not working? (we registered the account with the same domain name that we are trying to point here...)

Have you allowed enough time for the Domain to become propagated around the web?Propagation can take 48 to 72 hours in the worst cases, but plan on at least 24 hours.Has the Domain name been released by the Registrar? I had a client once where the domain name needed the registrar's permission to be re-directed/re-assigned (don't remember which). Can you get to the site by typing the URL in the address bar? When did you buy the domain name? when did you change the nameservers? Have you pointed to Xisto - Web Hosting account correctly? Is there an Index file in place to confirm the DNS mapping?Oh, and can you reduce the activity on your avatar, please. It really is distracting...

That is correct...

The new server has the same thing but should display with some folders instead...

As of this post, I can see your correct domain pointing towards Xisto - Web Hosting service. However, your parent directory (public_html) is wide open. Please secure with at least an index page. Some servers require longer than others to "update" the new changes. This is neither Xisto - Web Hosting nor other service matters. It's just how long each node is designated to refresh for newer information.Topic seems to be resolved since I can see that your domain name is working. I will leave this open for few more days for topic starter's reply.

This is called URL cloaking or masking. Although it can be done, any one can disable it (if they found out). And there's a way to do with with .htaccess, however the rest of your add-on domains would be all "lost."The best way to do is make your home page as a sub-domain, i.e. home.clashofages.com and redirect from clashofages.com ==> home.clashofages.com. This will create a folder called "home."You may use any methods to redirect: cpanel redirect, index page redirect (in meta tag or php header) or add your own .htaccess redirect command. They are available in any search or look through our Hosted Members Area for related topics.Thank you.
