How Is School In Your Country High school

Recommended Posts

Well, I come from Slovenia, a small country in the middle of Europe. I am a student now, but I have to say that I have quite good memories of the high-school, eventhough it is much much easier, better and more fun to be a student and do and study things that you really like. We started usually at 8 in the morning and finished at around 1 or 2 in the afternoon, so I had quite some free time. The most anoying thing was that we had a few major courses that we had to attend 5 times a week and that was pure suffer, because one of those was math and I really can't stand math :) All in all, I think it is a great experience and one of those periods in life, where you find out many new things and start to grow up.Best whishes to everybody in high-schooles and to those who have already finished them, too :)

I'm in a school of correspondence school. I'm considered to be homeschooled even thought I do all of the work myself. I rarely have anyone help me because the lessons are simple and easy to understand. I've learned more in this school than in any U.S. public school.

I live in Croatia in Donja Lomnica this is the smaller village near main town Zagreb.Every day I commute for about 1 hour in one and another 1 hour in another way.My school is much supporter from side of Croatian government than another schools. In school you can go only if you in Primary school had 5 (A) in Mathematics, Science, Biology, Croatian and English. My colleagues is the best in world on informatics competition ACSL.We got big GYM, outdoor playgrounds and athletic runway.I'm soo happy because I go to that school. In my school is going a girls too and most of them is very pretty.

Hello. I live in the United States and remembering back to my high school days in the state of Virginia which I still live in...The schools around the area and city to city are different in what they teach or emphasize on. They give us standardized tests which are all supposed to be the same throughout the nation for each grade and cover everything we 'should' know. I went to a few different high schools in the area and recognized that they were teaching very different things. And no it wasn't because of the time of the year or anything. Even the text books were different and I compared the material inside and they covered different things. Some text books were even by different publishers.Round here you had a diverse high school society. Had the preps, punks, goths(proud Gothic by the way  ), thugs, wiggers, dorks, all around odd people, and the occasional poor kid.The teachers who were older were often time bitter and bored with their job so much they really don't even care anymore. Completely unprofessional. The younger teachers who weren't broken yet were pretty cool sometimes. The rules were some of the most stupid I've ever read. Oh and the food sucked. Except for one school which had a pizza hut/taco bell within. Some sort of Deli and a couple of other things.Drugs were everywhere. Seemed like just about everyone did them. Usually it was Pot/Weed though. A few were into acid and speed sometimes cocaine. Everyone drank at the parties, even the dorks lol. Lots of fights in the hallways and in the cafeteria. Even at the football games. Everyone in the area under the age of 25 doesn't really care about much around here. As a collective the youth are moving away from the older generations almost like making their own society. I suppose that does happen every few generations though. Anyways, more to the point of the subject at hand school sucks around here. But in its own way it was cool. I miss my high school days. It was the biggest daily social event to just go to school and do whatever I wanted. :D

im in america right now and their school system is fine but a litlle slacking. the kids dont put eanough notivation into it the kids dont care wat so ever. they are really disrespecfull to the teachers, and they sooooo get the freedom of speech thing wrong way wrong. they have harable role models in america, the holiwood stars, and the kids tend to aim at the wrong goals. a lot of kids just say oh so and so, some rapper, did not finish high school and they are famous. the worst part is that they trie to teach kids moral values pretty late. you go from elementry>middle school>high school> coledge> if u get that far some specialist school like medical school. but where i was born and raised, haity, if you could afford school, pretty cheap, school was praticly your life. we had home works once in a while, BUT there was studying every day,we studied some hard material, third grade. if you did not know your material you would be "wipped", not as inhumane as it sounds. the "wipping" was more like motivation, and kids in haity always knew their material, and the teachers had every respect they could get from kids. youd go from garde school, high school, then i beleive a career training school, not sure, left at 9.the difference between those school systems was realy how the kids' attidudes where toards their edducation. school in america comes free, and somewhat forcefully giving kids a reason to hate it. but in haity it was somewhat a privalige to learn and came to kids as gift.
