Free not only in India... everywhere in the world! The best ever mail provider is now open! No more invites required! But I did not understand the point, why still every new registration have 50 invites! ??? lol The best feature is sending mail from any address, provided you own them. I signed Gmail. I have a email forwarding address, but can use it to send mail. Now can use the email address to send mail, with the help of Gmail! Check it out!

zachwyler 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2007 Google left the invites in place, so you can invite people who dont use Gmail yet. They think it'll be more easier than simply telling your friends about it.
WarFact 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2007 Gmail is by far the best email service i've seen yet. It's great being able to archive emails instead of deleting them completely

That pic doesn't prove that its invite-free all over the world. They can control what content is on their web-page for different areas. I think i heard somewhere that there are still some countries that still need to receive invites before they can sign up.
Zlash 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 It's good that they went public. I myself got it before they went public and was lucky enough to have a friend who used it and had invitations. Really the best mail service I've used so far.
Tetraca 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2007 Great, now the service will be subject to abuse by spambots, as I have personally seen already. Invite or texting only would work much better in combatting spam than using a simple CAPTCHA and trying to fend them off that way. It'd be so easy for the people that run spambots to register a few gmail accounts it's rediculous. Less spammers would tend to join if it were closed to invites and phone queries.
