Personally, I hate pop-ups. Even though I have AOL, and that blocks them, they can still be really annoying. The reason why I go for adless-webhosting is so my site members and visitors don't have to deal with that stuff. Not only are they annoying, but they make people want to come to your site even less, too. Anyone who say, is running I.E., and doesnt have the liberty of getting a popup blocker (say if you netsurf out of a library..) can get buried in popups. which really bites.

Many things depend on that which is advertised in pop-ups. Probably people don't like when they see erotic or porno info in pop-ups or when 3 pop-ups are loaded together in a moment  And also good pop-ups mustn't be very big in size feature. But when pop-ups are loaded not only with index page - it's terrible! Do webmasters think people will go to that websites which are advertised. It's all what I want to say.

I did a little pop-up experiment. I signed one of my sites up for Popuptraffic.com (a pay-per-impression popup ad network) for a month. That site got 14,090 page views that month, and I put one pop-up on each page. Did users complain?Very few. There are so many people with blockers so they didn't even notice any difference.Of those 14,090 page views, only 238 of them actually saw a pop-up. That got me less than 50 cents. 50 cents was all I got for a MONTH's worth of popups.Pop-ups are a waste of time, as they are not effective at all anymore. I use only text ads now, and I have made hundreds of times the money I did from that month of pop-ups.

hi there!

don't forgett that there are toolz like "webwasher" witch will block banners and ads too... i don't like the systems used today [track cookies, information - connectdb etc.] but i don't block them at all... companys will loose money if u block everythink on the web, but if u don't care bout that search 4 webwasher - and there will be no more ad's

I have used popups on my sites in the past but nowadays most people have blockers so it would be a waste of bandwidth. I always saw when desiging a website if it annoys the hell outta me it will probally do the same to everybody else. I used to like them but i think now they are nothign but a waste of time and bandwidth.

I don't like them. I avoid them. I used to put some pop up on my site but that drove the visitors avay. That is way i use opera <_< the best browser ever. My personal view is that click thrugh is the best way to make money and adevertise, on key public. It's more rewarding.

How can you like pop ups or advertising. I hate it, slows down my pc and makes me think twice before visiting the site that has pop ups again. If I need to buy something or am looking for something I will search on google to find it, I don't want people to show me something while I'm busy viewing a webpage. But I guess some people like it as the ad's are still on websites and still don't show signs of disappearing <_<.
