templest 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Mozilla auto-blocks pop-ups, they wouldn't bother me...ohh, wait...Yeah, I'd see the pop-ups but I'd buy their stuff to help the site!
serverph 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2004 yeah, admin, better not use them on this site as MOST users nowadays automatically block pop-ups anyway. it would be an annoyance for youto realize less income than you would expect from these. furthermore, you can't control all the ads that come with the service provider youchoose for popups. and most popups are disguised to include auto-installersthat will ruin Xisto's reputation if ever it gets downloaded to othermembers' computers... some auto-installers are nasty to screw theregistry, without the user even knowing it.as a general rule, shy away from popups. chinfo 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2004 Pop-ups are a nightmare for those who don't have blockers, and they might red-flag your site and never comeback again...so its a no-win situation.

Shackman 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2004 Windows XP SP2 has its own pop-up blocker. Its nice. And yes, pop-up ads are disgusting. You made the right choice admin. Having pop-up ads scares away lots of people, at it makes pages take ages to load for 56k users.I can't believe why advertisers stoop so low. I am very disgusted by pop-up ads to the point that if I see a pop on a site, I go close the browser window.(That is when I turn the pop-up blocker off)
