Forumer.com free forum hosting place place to make ur own forum

Recommended Posts

I HATE free forum creators such as this one. Why not use this free hosting they supply here and get a real forum? With that, you cannot edit anything, but if you just get it here, then you can edit anything you want. I dont see the point in these...But I suppose this is ok for beginners

Practice running a Forum on the Free ones and it will be lots easier to run one when you get Hosted here. You will understand the Admin Control Panel better, for instance, and know which security settings to set on/off to suit what you want the Forum to manage like. Also, what Privacy settings, and the effect of allowing certain Groups, etc.

i Must say that these sort of forums are customizable. you cant add things to it, but they are extremly useful if you are starting out. It makes running a forum like this alot easier and it gives you an insight into how the forum will run.

I don't understand the limitations of free forum hosting services. Or rather, I don't find much limitations as compared to the ones hosted here. Surely, I've seen many free hosted forums have proper and nice mods on them as well as multiple skins for the visitors to choose. Other than ads on the free forums, I don't find other negative points not to use them.

As comparing the free forums to the ones hosted here, it would be hard to choose because the forums hosted here may be gone forever if you've broken one of the rules by accident, or even you may not know it. That would be worst if you've alot of registered members and your forum becomes very active. On the other hand, a free forum will hardly be banned unless you are doing illegal stuffs with it. Hence you can be better assured that you have your forum with you even when you've changed your web hosting service.

For me, I'd rather have services hosted on different servers so when something goes wrong with one, the others will not fall.

if i was you i would get a hosting account here and setup a smf board its so much better than a crappy free one, no offence but you can do so much more with it and customize it and everything, i have had several forums and i can safely say that it is better to get a free hosting with no ads and hosting the forum yourself, yeah thats the best way around it, he he good luck on getting a hosting account here and hten you can have a rockin forum that is totally cool, very ncie tyhough and good luck matey, thanks for the links and bye bye

I found this good Forum Hosting called Forumer.com . Its got Phpbb and IPB 1.3 hosting. I think it has around 30+ skins. I have been using it for a year now and unlimited bandwidth and storage. and support is very nice. I got answers withing 30 mins. Its got something called fbucks in its support forums which can be used for ad removal. Out of all forum hosts i've used i feel this is the best.

I prefer spreebb.com. They are fully customizable and are run off some IPB. but they are good. IF skins work with them, and they have some cool options like a recycle bin forum. Look at what I made with it ( sign up if you want)

I have used forumer and it was kind of crappy, since there are onl 30 skins and it is not moddable. So yah, spreebb FTW.

I used to use stuff like forumer, Invisionfree, invisionplus, so on so forth. I would have ot say that phpBB is better than these. Although it does take a lot more time to get the forum looking nice, it is definately worth it. The MODS, although hard to install sometimes, make the board look much better on phpBB then they do on the free forums. And the lack of MySQL database that often comes with the free forum is horrible if your site, for some reason, gets wiped. You cannot back up files which is quite unfortunate. So personally I suggest to just spend the extra time on phpBB boards then get a free oneCheers,Jester

I have my forum hosted on here for 21 days i think having it on here is much better, you have control of everything, can change anything and have no ads, the problems are that you have space limitations. I guess though for people new to forums and running one might not want access to everything so they dont screw anything up.

ps my forum is phpbb http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

I quite like these free forum hosting services and have even used a couple when I've needed a free discussion forum for my website quickly when I haven't had the time to set up manually using a hosting account. One piece of advice though, I wouldn't use any web hosting account like Xisto or any other free web account service for creating forums, especially if your forum is likely to be popular, as there's a high chance that there isn't enough bandwidth for the board and the hosting account will be suspended for running out of bandwidth.Additionally, many webhosts don't like people having various bulletin boards, such as invision power board, on their servers, due to security vulnerabilities. I believe Xisto have even banned various versions of invision power board from their servers. The advantages of using these free forum hosting services are that if you don't wish to pay to have your own dedicated server, this method ensures you have enough bandwidth, it is also extremely quick and easy to set up. The only main disadvantage is that you have advertisements. At the end of the day, it's down to you, the users, whether you want to set up a free forum hosting account on one of the free forum hosting websites, or whether you want to run it on your own server. As said above, I would go for the free forum hosting. There's only a few things that have been disabled on the free services.

I must admit i was a junkie for free forums before i found the awsome Xisto. In all my experience Jconserv and invisionfree were the best.

Invisionfree has lots of codes, support sites and mods.

Jconserv was the best free phpbb host. Lots of customisability (is that a word?) and great support.
