illdevilinc 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2006 I have a site compleatly dedicated to Metal Music and some of its features arent working right now. I need some suggestions of what to do next on it and also suggestions on how i can get the features working.the site ishttp://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/Also if anyone knows how please help me on getting a log in forum,a server where i can put my files without vialating the TOS for that site and this one , sites for videos, lyrics, and download sites. And im not sure if i should put advertisment on it or leave it advertisment free. Also if anybody has any other suggestions i would be happy to hear them
sxyloverboy 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2006 i dont think you can put music download files to download without violating any TOS. but if you have your own band or make your own music you can make that available to download without a problem. also i think you can post lyrics to songs without violating any TOS. The same aplies to movies/videos as to songs. if they arnt yours. dont put them there without written permission. What i noticed is that you have 2 menus on the main page and also 2 server lists which differ from each other. you might wanna remove the second server list and the second menu 2 because personaly i see no point in it. if you want my opinion on design i would say it needs a lot of work but i wont go deeper into that bvecause i didnt think youasked for crtique on the design. now as for advertisments i think it is your own choice. if you want ot make some money its a good idea but then again it compromises on the site design except if you find a way to integrate it well onto the site. I also saw it said An Upload section for independent artists on the lisyt of thing you want for your site. in legal terms i think its ok to make that music available for download if the artist themselves upload it. but make sure you have some sort of TOS there also that they accept you making it available for fownload. hope this helped
illdevilinc 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2006 The Download section of it is to list leagal sites to download from. The videos are linked to with permission by Yashi (https://yashi.com/) witch is a free video hoster if anyone will use it. The second menu is in the home page witch is supposed to be an informative to how to naviagate around the site. I will probbably be removing that later on. But if you have any other suggestions about the site then please say so i am willing to modifiy the site. And this site is kind of built wierd because it was built on microsoft office 2003 Frontpage and im new at the software. Also i still need to learn how to make a log on and registration database and form if anyone knows how please tell me.Thanks
apollo 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 Hi. accuatly, i don`t like your site. The buttons don`t go together with red text. And so red text don`t go up with black BG. Then you have added blue, yellow, grey color, it`s too colored. Letters are too big. and take some text out, cus it`s too much there. Try out other colors and text font, and it will be ok. 5.5/
kelvinismyname 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 First off your design needs a Major RE-Doo, Try using tables to organise the data a little better, or you can search for a free template and use that. The good layout will help you implement and integrate your site features more easily. AS for Videos Hosting if you dont want to violate the Tos i think you can host yor videos on a free file host such as rapidhost or megahost, that way you can also save your site bandwidth.Putting ads on your site is up to you, if you are gonna get alot of trafic then it may be worth putting ads up to make money else i wont recommend it ,because they can put off your site layout and design. jlhaslip 4 Report post Posted February 1, 2006 AS for Videos Hosting if you dont want to violate the Tos i think you can host yor videos on a free file host such as rapidhost or megahost, that way you can also save your site bandwidth. 225909[/snapback] Well, the links to warez and other illegal items which violate the TOS would also be enough to get your account in trouble, so even though you don't host the files on the Trap server, I think that links to other locations where the contents of the link are downloadable would be enough to violate the Xisto T.O.S.For example, the TOS says 'no Adult material', so links to 'Adult material' are not acceptable on a Xisto Hosted account. At least that's how I interprete the T.O.S., but I'm not a Lawyer.
illdevilinc 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2006 Ok,I changed some of the content based on your suggestions.Im also working on the others. But what i changed now are:1. The colors of the site. (They are now white and black instead of Red and black)2. Some content has been removed. (Content like the second server and navigation list has been removed, the TOS has been moved to its own page, the link discription has been removed, the instructions on how to use the site has been removed, and the main navigation system has been improved. What i am working on is putting the site in frames to improve the layout and adding content. But if you have any other suggestions on anything on the page let me know through this or the website. Earths Daughter 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2006 On Firefox, your logo is very small and sort of buried in among the navigation buttons. The search box is right up against the logo, too. Use a spellchecker on your News section before you post news. The colors are a little dull for my tastes, it's that rusted brown that drags down the rest. But some people may like the color combination. I would replace the brown with something a bit brighter personally.
