serverph 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2006 the link that follows displays a picture of Matt Mecham (IPB developer). http://forums.xisto.com/index.php?acts=ugly_old_matt the next one shows a small picture of IPB identification and copyright notice. http://forums.xisto.com/index.php?act=Stats&CODE=id could these be used by IPB to detect nulled versions of their popular forum script? (it can be duly-noted by members that the IPB version used in our forums is totally legit.) what do you think? tell us also of experiences with these easter egss in other forums using IPB too. just change the domain from links presented above to test it on other IPB forums. uiop 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2006 I don't think that IPB uses these methods to detect illegally used forums.IPB does have a built-in checking tool however: Just go to "index.php?ipscheck=1". This method can be used to find the registration number of any forum prior to version 2.1. The "ipscheck" variable is password protected for forum versions 2.1 and newer.
