Trojan Emits Bogus Google Adsense Ads Trojan Emits Bogus Google AdSense Ads

Recommended Posts

Trojan Emits Bogus; Google AdSense Ads A Trojan horse program is churning out bogus Google ads promoting products Google eschews?—gambling, cheap Viagra, girlie photos and adult dating. The ads, being targeted at small publishers, are identical to Google AdSense ads except that referral graphic buttons are being converted to text, apparently due to a bug in the Trojan, according to the publisher who reportedly discovered the Trojan. That publisher, Raoul Bangera, told Techshout.com that the non-contextual and risqué content of the ads are what set them apart from regular AdSense ads. "Contrary to the normal Google ads, which have some correlation to the content on the Web page, these malicious ads had no content that was remotely similar to the pages to which they had been attached," Techshout quotes Bangera as saying. "Most of the ads were about gambling or adult content, which are banned categories in Google AdSense, clearly indicating a suspicious origin." According to Techshout, when users click on the fake AdSense ads, they boot the user to three successive sites. The user is eventually dumped onto a page with a slew of ads and links to more ads.

That is very interesting and informative. Well I normally don't click google ads or any ads unless I am on a trusted site anyway. I guess I don't have to worry about that cause I don't gamble and stuff anyway. The person that created the Trojan really must not have a life.

odds are if he were smart he try to deviat funds from google adds to his account but of course that would be some slick work to not get caught with that.but targeting add with viruses is not all that new though, guess google has to beef up their security with them now.

A nice input but sorry for you to lose 4 days worth credits for not quoting the source from where you get the information. I hope you will get the credit you deserve in the day to come as you quote the source properly.Well, this is a very serious case for common people. One like us who know a thing about adsense will never click those kind of ads but common man doesn't know how ads are served by google adsense.I hope my sites are not infected by the trojan.

the trojan only affect sites with adsense right? Ehh. .but why do i care. I'm currently using clicksor right now. I noticed that sometime their popups contains trojan and spyware. Of course i'm too lazy to report them.I just don't get how the creator of the trojan is going to gain anything forum it. He can't insert his own account ads code into it because it would be too obvious. So really, i don't see any point of creating a trojan that does that.. Anyways. thanks for the info =P. Ehh.. so.. you lose poin for it ehh. .lol .j/k =P
