LeAnn Rimes My Angel 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 To anyone out there using phpBB, the next release has been sent out. Report: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=336756 Download: https://www.phpbb.com/downloads/ Additional Download for the Changed Files Only: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I found an error! One of the reports was made by myself. Even though it was not a bug, it was about the cosmetic display on the index page concerning the subSilver template. As people may have noticed, the ''Mark all forums read'' is displayed before you even sign in. This tiny issue has been fixed in 2.0.18. Yay!! hehe
jlhaslip 4 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 I've been looking at the phpbb dot com support forums and it looks like the only people having difficulties with the upgrades are those who have lots of mods (or older versions of mods) and those who are trying to skip from older versions ( ie: phpbb v2.0.11) to 2.0.18 (the newest). Has anybody here tried the upgrade? and how did it go for you?I am considering the conversion, but I think I'll wait to see what others do and whether they are having any difficulties. mama_soap 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Dark God, I am sure it's good to find your reported error fixed Congratulations on getting a problem solved! Every time I think I have found something I thought is a potential bug, it invariably turns out that something's wrong with the way I'm doing things. I've become kinda paranoid about reporting problems, lol. I'm waiting for Olympus... or should I say I can't wait for Olympus! And the version of phpBB that I'm using on my server at home is 2.0.17 and will probably stay that for a while. I'll probably upgrade when I re-do my site. Planning to take my current site offline and bring it back on around New Year's. So here's hoping there's someone who has upgrading plans more in the near future can anyone give me some info about the mods available for phpbb? and what do they do? I kinda feel bored with my current onelucentio, a mod is a modification that enhances the bare-bones system that you've installed from the original s/w package. Bit like extensions for firefox... Try the official modifications page. And if you are looking for something more specific, try google. Like they say, remember that google is your friend and is more likely to answer your questions immediately and accurately. No offence - it's just that you will find it quicker. bucksta 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 phpBB is an overall bad forum. according to its features, you should only use phpBB if you are DESPERATE for a forum. Or otherwise use invisionplus.net. it will host you forums. also, you can download IPB 1.2 from some sites and thats a good forum too. i dont use phpBB but i saw other sites with it. some actually turned out good.
