Hot Link Protection

I forget how the Unix command works but what would happen if you leave out the .. before /image/picture.jpg? Will it look for image directory within the subdirectory or from the root directory? Anyway, see what happens to your pictures if you leave out .. But in case it does not work try it with the full path

It might be a pain in the neck but if you have any editing software use the F3 key and see if there's "replace with" option. It's lot easier to replace everything that starts with ../image with http://www.histology-world.com/image/

Hi Buffallo:Thanks again for your suggestions. Well, we are making some progress. When I check the box, I can view pictures on all of my pages. So that seemed to solve that problem. However, I went to the site that is hotlinking to my pics, and she also entered the URL, so she is also able to view my pics.I will change the way I call up the pics. I havent tried this yet. Instead of using a relative directory (..) I will type in the full URL. I will let you know.SunkistP.S. I have another solution. I think I will change my link to all images being hotlinked. Then I will post a pornographic picture to that URL. Anybody trying to steal my bandwidth will get a more than they bargained for!

LOL!!No I wouldn't host pornographic picture in your host. What I would do is make a simple picture with text that says, "Thank you for stealing my picture, you thief!" and rename it to the file name that other sites are taking. It's a bit pain in your end but you can then rename all pictures that are being hotlinked to something else.I hate to see YOU get punished by Xisto's TOS for trying to protect your intellectual copyright.

Hi Again:Ok, so the porno idea is nixed. Where are the terms of service? You know, I don't want to do something that violates the terms of service, and then suddenly find myself banned.Sunkist
