T100 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2005 There are three things I hate about the Internet: advertisement, advertisement and advertisement. We choose to browse the World Wide Web instead of watching the television becasue the web offers something different: we can choose what to get from it instead of having them pour things into our heads. I seldom watch TV now since I don't like their mode of broadcasting. Advestisement, I once thought, was the product of the old TV age. But increasingly, companies are exploiting the Internet to make money and now spam mails, pop-ups, adwares and banners are polluting the Internet that much that I have to use a couple of software to block them. It's really a pity.

mama_soap 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2005 Phew... this is going to be a long list :lol:For a long time, I thought spam was probably the worst thing that happened to me as a consequence of being plugged in to the net. Ever since gmail, though (as many people have correctly pointed out), that problem seems to have faded away from focus.I am - rather obviously - disgusted with websites that deliberately try to choke my PC with malicious software - from spyware to adware to viruses - it frustrates me no end. I think the vulnerability of my computer reduced after my switch to Linux, but I'm not entirely sure I can get rid of the hacking threat completely.Advertizements that are out of context. Whether banners or popups or pop-unders, I get easily irritated with ads that simply have nothing to do with the rest of the website they appear in. Especially the dating ads that turn up every now and then... arrghhhh!Scams, of course. But I am not nearly as annoyed about scams as I would perhaps be about viruses, because most of the scams I have seen are - well, scams in a rather obvious sort of way. If you fall for something like poetry.com, you probably deserve getting cheated. Okay, sorry - that's perhaps rude, but it's almost - if not entirely - true. Some scams can be convincing, I guess...Badly designed websites - including the ones I've created - really make me want to pull my hair out sometimes. Like someone pointed out earlier (sorry I can't remember who) there are things following your cursor and multiple cartoons flashing at you and... blah blah blah. I'm sure everyone's been there

believer 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 just like most of the posters here, I hate to browse sites that contains pop ups, javascripts, and of course who like viruses. Additionally as I have mentioned on other related topic, I am pretty much annoyed by those background musics? I mean c'mmon not everybody that browse internet do have the same taste of music, of course if the site is about music then that's understandable but if it's your personal site I would really not recommend putting one. Plenoptic 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 The list could go on and on about how many bad things there are about the internet. I don't like how many people scam people into getting money and stuff when they don't get anything. There's spyware, keyloggers, adware, etc; People will go to all extents just to get stuff on your computer. Then there's the stupid pop ups advertising nothing you want. People who use it for pornography and people selling illegal software. It's like the energizer bunny. It just keeps going and going and going.

XRated 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2005 I honostly hate ad filled web pages , my little PC cannot handle such stuff , my connection is fine it's actually much faster then my PC lol but still there is no need to fill your pages right full of ads i mean to the point that you cannot even see the content displayed on the page.. Or sites that have continuouse popups that basically crash your browser :/
knowlege pool 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2005 most annoying thing one can have is popups and advertisement. You are trying to open up a site and before it lands on a homepage you are forced to close numerous popup windows and finally when to land up on home page you cann't find the content in the page already crowded by advertisement. With commercial site it is agreeable to certain extend but it become unbearable with personal pages and utility sites. say U are trying to access your mobile bill . But the site is adament on downloading a heavy flash file before showing you the way. Beside the bandwith it eats up lots of time and energy. At times the browser got struck. And you wait and watch helplessly.then there are sites which leaves list of unwanted guests on your system in form of Adware , spyware, cookies, exe files and what not. I sit every fortnight to get rid of this stuff which keep hitting me despite all antivirus and anti adware softwares installed in my sysytem.then to add icing on the cake, there are junk mails. They are like bliss to people you ahve nothing else in the world but to keep poking and intruding in someone's mailbox. In routine I need to flush out dozens of junk mail asking for all kinda of medicines, gagets, travel, mobiles and what not.then there are sites of sound alike names or so leading you to totally different location . you are looking for a government site and a mistake of character or so , you land up on a porn site. And then so many popups will be there that only option left with you will be reboot your system to save your self from unnecessary harrasment.

cardude 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 SPAM! I would definately have to say SPAM! It fills my inbox daily. I get over 50 spam messages daily and I hate it. I changed my website ages ago so spambots couldn't pick up my email address anymore, but I still get spam! It seems like the spam grows every day! I don't like popup's either, but I don't have to deal with them now that I have XP SP2.
