malish 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 I think I did everything wrong and now I have no idea what to do. I ask admins to help me because I feel that from now I don't even know how to act.I had a domain registered with Xisto - aidesigns.trap17.com. Then I bought a normal domain and registered it with godaddy. I added the dns entries into the godaddy cpanel and because of the lack of knowledge deleted aidesigns.trap17.com from parked list. I got 15 credits and went to https://support.xisto.com/ to chnage the domain. I put the http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ as my domain (I registered it and paid for it) my points got deducted and in two days when I logged into Xisto cpanel I could see the new domain on the left side. I felt good... But.. When I go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ it shows some pre-installed web page saying that the domain was build and everything was ok. But again I didnt see the site that used to be aidesigns.trap17.com. I went later to parked domais and realized there was nothing in the list. I tried to add http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (spent another 15 credits) and it said that I can't add my main domain. I have no idea of what I've done and what I should do. Please help me and instruct on how to get the domain to work with trap 17 hosting.Thank you, with respect to trap 17 admins
snlildude87 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2005 Everything works fine for me. I see your site perfectly: "Nieuwe pagina 1". You have some drop-down menus and a "Helping you create" banner. :-/Your problem is that you cannot park a domain once it's your main one. Parking a domain is basically redirecting...it's hard to explain. Maybe Google can better explain what a parked domain means.

guangdian 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2005 just do as the follows:first you need to add an A record on your godadaddy management centerthe A record is that: 69.50.188.18 that ip is the webhost ip address.add it to the "yourname.net"then add another A record it's just like that:"69.50.188.18" this time is "http://www.yourname.net/;.after you added this two domain for the A record, just opened your cpanel parked your domain or addon your domain with that" yourname.net " but not "http://www.yourname.net/;----------by the way:you needn't change the dns of the godaddy management center.----------i just don't know that add a domain even runs 15 credits?heha.the Xisto style, yes.all you do is need credits, but the credits is so hard to got.and the bad luck with that member is : he takes two time for add it.but he runs 30 credits i think, why?add a domain, why this should be using credits?you know we all would add domain to our host but not use the yourname.haha.com,the domain like this,we just do that as every time we use the host.i just don't know why.why so strictly..we looked for the clickherefree.com,and we just can not found the Xisto again, last year it's just the top 20 or top 30,but now..hehe,many people left here.if it's will growing your webhost speed,i will say: Yes,the speed is so quick now,and the server is very steady, and i wanna buy your paid host now.guangdian
malish 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2005 So what you saying is that I need to add the ip of my host to godaddy? But what do I do to park my domain? I have nothing now in my parked list
snlildude87 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2005 You don't need to park your domain once you're using it as the main one. Parking is for people to want to redirect all visitors coming from one domain to the other. Take Google for instance. If you type in Gooogle.com, you'll get redirected to google.com, so they probably have gooogle.com parked. They also have google.org and google.net parked so that all visitors coming to those two come to google.com (the main one) instead.Using that logic, if you have http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ as your main one, and you park http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, you'll get no where. Right now, I cannot access aidesigns.trap17.com, so that tells me that you have successfully changed your domain.Try this. Go to your godaddy control panel and add ns1.trap17.com and ns2.trap17.com into the DNS textboxes.Okay, I just checked out your domain (aigraphics.net), and it works for me...the real one. Your banner says GFX resource...right?
malish 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2005 Yes i just realized http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ works but for some reason http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ forwards me to some default page - can you explain why?P.S ns1 DNS entries have been already added to godaddy long time ago. sonorama 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2005 I remember something similar happened to me when I was setting evanss.org up in my DNS preferences. I couldn't see my own site, but all my buddies could do it!!I tried by deleting all my cache and all that stuff, but then someone told me the problem sometimes is the IPS. After a couple of days I finally was able to view my site :DCheers!!!
